Buddy of mine just texted me that GNR is playing Chicago tomorrow (2/19). Sounded wrong since I just saw them at Allstate Arena not too long ago, but sure enough, they're playing House of Blues. Wish I had known sooner- Stubhub has tickets going for roughly $250 a pop. They're good, but not $250 good with work and school the next day. "9:30" start time. I would consider it, but I've already committed money towards Eddie Vedder in Orlando (and the plane tickets that this requires).

How much did you pay for tickets?

Well, enjoy. The November show at Allstate was excellent apart from the fact that everyone in the band got a few minutes of "me time" for guitar solo/drum solo.

DJ Asba is trying so badly to be Slash that I'm almost embarrassed for him. A cigarette hanging from his mouth (City of Rosemont frowns upon indoor smoking- he probably got some correspondence from Rosemont PD in the mail) , wearing an almost top-hat like hat, and so on. I read somewhere that Axl wanted the lead guitarist to play a Les Paul; he obliged. He's very talented, but come on- you're pretending to be Slash in front of thousands of people who are pissed for years that he's not there? That's pretty bold. Should have jacked someone else's modus operandi.

That sounds about right. I have such a hard time imagining them at a venue like HOB. The last time I missed a show that I wanted to go was Pearl Jam at United Center in 2009. That still stung even after I went to PJ20 this summer.

Still, getting back home at 4 am ahead of a work day/school night- just the thought of doing that hurts. Hopefully they wrap this club tour up and knock out CD's follow up in a timely manner.

I know people give you a lot of crap on here, most of it completely deserved, but I'll give you this Panth:

This concert seems like one of the most miserable and complete wastes of time and money that I can possibly fathom. And somehow you survived it. Bravo.
