I know words are wind but I must needs show up. Would that I could if someone promised to fondle my small, firm breasts. Don't jape me because I'm as useless as nipples on a breastplate. If it please you I want this mummer's farce to end. Time to make water and break my fast.

Almost done re-reading Storm of Swords. The Hound's always been my favorite character and I hope he makes a comeback in the last two books of the series. I think he'd be a great POV character for a few chapters, which I'm sure would be named something cleverly vague like "The Gimp Brother With Half a Face."

I think one of the main reasons for the Brienne storyline was to show the Hound is done. He is now a gravedigger at the monastery and its only the "helmet" that lives on. Not to say he can't make another appearance since he is close to Kings Landing, but I would say its doubtful.

The Oberyn / Mountain fight scene was quite the thing, might be my favorite passage of the series so far.

Indeed. I was thinking when I first read it that it was very Inigo Montoya-ish until Martell gets a bit too cocky at the end.

Im sure Im late to the game with this information but the westeros.com website is something else. Its like having 500 different Beardown's each espousing their own theories / ideas on what has happened, what is happening and what will happen in the next couple books . Its been well worth the few hours Ive spent looking it over, Couple of epic rants against GRRM for who he has killed off and how long its taking him to finish these books., makes the couple Ive posted look like a vanilla malt by comparison.

Yea he isn't as dumb as he is fat - which is good for the North. I was impressed by his subtlety and subterfuge. And don't ask him for recipes for pie...

What do I read after I'm done with Joe Abercrombie's series? Jackref, any suggestions?

It'll be sort of tough to find anything that will top A Song of Ice and Fire and The First Law.

So did you end up digging The First Law Trilogy?

Honestly no other fantasy stands up to those two series. Its such a steep dropoff I am having a hard time with the genre now. I tried reading a few other fantasy authors and I can't get through the books.

I read a bunch of Lee Child's Reacher series which was an excellent change of pace. A one man A-Team essentially. Quick reads and highly enjoyable. Also read a few Harlen Coben books - kind of modern noir thrillers.

I was talking with someone about Clive Barker the other day and I read all his stuff pre 2001 and he is one of my top 5 authors. I may go back and read Imajica my favorite book of all time. Or Weaveworld which was the book that made 12 year old Jackref realize Stephen King was not a great horror writer.

Barker's early stuff was so graphic - I still get shivers thinking about some of his short stories from Books of Blood series. He really lost his edge though when he came out of the closet. After Everville his writing wasn't as crisp. And two of his books were downright terrible - Sacrament and Galilee. I saw the Abarat series but it seems geared for tweeners so I never picked it up. Supposedly he is working on another book with Harry D'Amour as the main character and Pinhead which would be awesome.
