Almost white out conditions on Martingale Rd. in Schaumburg. Doesn't look like it's sticking yet though

At the Altar of the Giant Pile of Salt?!?

It isn't even drizzling on the s. side of the city.

BUT (gods & karma) that doesn't mean I don't respect the "Thundersnow" prediction for tonight.

White knuckled a usually 30 minute drive home this morning at 4am in about an hour.
Country roads with no street lights anywhere and a virtual white out in my windshield.
I think I took a day or two off my life expectancy with the stress of not putting my car
in the ditch. Looks like a solid 5 inches of fluffy yet wet and slippery snow up here, I
think we may get more later but I hope not. Roads in town weren't a whole hell of a
lot better.

I would have been bragging a month ago, I could almost start smelling the grass down
here and wanted to get the clubs out. Just hoping this melts fast and dries out in another
month.

edit: I didn't notice what you had bolded.. :P Nothing to brag about.... I was great as usual....

Before I went to bed last night, it didn't appear as if it was going to snow at all where I'm at near Harlem/Irving. Temperatures were above freezing and I didn't see any of the white stuff on the ground until I woke up this morning. According to ABC7's Tracy Butler, O'Hare officially received 2.6 inches, but it's awfully slushy and I don't think it'll be here for very long.
