One way or the other I don't think Shane is long for the show.

Which is kind of depressing, as I actually like his character. If he dies/leaves, that means we'll have to be force-fed another loose-cannon character change among a group of protagonists that simply don't fit the mold. Daryl would be the only other option of "crazy potential" in the group (unless they want to also try out Andrea, but everyone hates her anyway). Shane brings an element to the group that simply would not exist if he was no longer in the story.

Glen seems to be headed for a bit of character turn, however. Will be interesting to see what they do with him.

He all but admitted it to both of them...were you not paying attention?

i agree that last night shane seemed to admit it, but i am with 312player on this. i never understood how dale was able to so confidently leap to the conclusion that shane sacrificed otis and convince others based on nothing but a hunch and the fact he hates shane.

I think that's the only reason Dale reached that conclusion originally. Or maybe he remembered seeing Shane aim at Rick in season 1 and knew what he was capable of. But then he got Shane to admit it.

Or instead of a villain within the group all future tensions could be with outsiders. Don't dismiss that angle.

And for those of you who dislike Andrea, don't get your hopes up, she's one of the 3 main stars of the show/comic. Some main characters who are not in that holy trinity are getting a different storyline than they did in the books (i.e. Sophia being killed, Shane still breathing), but I seriously doubt we will ever see the death of any of the big three.

yeah i remember when they were in the woods an dale was trying to hide the guns..shane admitted to nothing..said something like "rick is my best friend" "otis died a hero" ...dale has somehow figured it all out before shane shaved his head.

wow, that's huge. I thought for sure they were grooming Merle for the role. Thanks for the link.

Now if we could get some news on Michonnis I would be very happy.

Nice to get Shame and Rick off the farm and getting some action.

Rick definitely reasserted his leadership. Shame seemed pacified for the time being.

The two zombie guards with no bites was interesting. Why the focus on them?

Didn't realize last week that Randall was Damian from Rescue Me.

Lori is pissed cause Andrea doesn't do her woman work. Instantly Scorehead's favourite character.

They need to move along soon.

If you can find the spoiler thread, I'll give you my theory on it. Relates back to what the doc at the CDC whispered into Rick's ear before bar-b-queing himself.

Very good episode with a lot of zombie killing action and some good fight scenes between
Rick and Shane. Was interesting about those guards, maybe the zombie strain has mutated
or something like that. I would like them to leave the farm soon, it is getting a bit played out.

Agreed. I liked the episode a lot from a character development standpoint but it's time for the plot and narrative to develop a little more now.

The writers haven't wasted any time (like they did the entire 1st half of the season) in resolving these character issues or at least moving them forward. I thought Rick/Glenn etc meeting those two strangers at the bar in town was the trigger to get them off the farm...they are still there but things are progressing at least.

Shane is conflicted as all fuck. He is pacified for the moment, but the previews make it seems that he goes back to wanting to depose Rick....how much of that is that dumb bitch Andrea's doing I don't know. Speaking of Andrea............I still hate her and want to her to die in a horrible, awful way. I know she probably isn't going anywhere but seriously, fuck her. The conversation between her and Ricks wife (Lori? She sucks too) was a good one....I can see both angles but Andrea shouldn't be sticking her nose in that situation and giving that girl the "wink and the nod" to slice her wrists if she wants too, lying to Glenn's woman was pretty underhanded as well. I really wish Dale would have given Andrea the gun so she could off herself earlier.....oh well. Funny though, she got in Lori's face about "making up your own rules" and sticking her nose on other peoples lives when she went and did the same and almost got a girl killed.

I love this season thus far. The prisoner is a mcguffin, but in a world without a lot of living people, you're going to need those.

Maybe I'm being obsessive but I want to know what happened to the guy and his son who saved Rick all the way back from Episode 1.

They are too far away for that now.

Don't you remember the scene where Rick tried one last time from the top of the hill before they left the area? He said it was his last attempt at contacting them.

edit: I know I've said this before but...where is your head man?! Some of the things you say...I just don't know...

my head?... i do remember that scene..which was like 30 hours after he left the guy and his kid..he went to the city on a horse..got horse eaten while stuck in a tank...rescued from tank by glen and handcuffed the hillbilly..goes back to camp to reunite with old lady/kid...then he tries to warn black dude about atlanta being over run..that was the last time it was referenced...not good enough in my opinion...somebody that read the books said somewhere that rick goes to the house to check in dude and his kid is a zombie..so where is your head?

If they follow the timeline in the comics (which is a big if at this point) you won't get an answer to this question until at least the end of season 3 or sometime in season 4. ALOT of shit is gonna happen before then.

No I didn't.

But I'm ok with it. His character didn't really translate well to the show.

Agreed. I thought he brought a refreshing element to the story. Perhaps that's the reason he was killed off, though; to further drive home the point that life as they knew it no longer exists.

Very good episode. I watched late last night and found myself yelling my head off at the screen
with Carl fucking with that walker. I don't have kids but if I knew he was doing that I would have
beat his little ass. Turned out bad for the group but I won't miss Dale that much. Thought he played
his role well though. There is no moral compass in this group and I see this spinning out of control
the next two episodes until someone new is introduced.
