best picture is typically an undeserved award and the nominations lately have been ridiculous. "war horse" just looked like a kid's movie.

i did hear a lot of great things about "hugo"--i'd be interested to see it but i heard it's really worth seeing in 3-D.

"the artist" was awesome.

Streep winning Best Actress for that shitty movie is like ARod winning MVP while playing for the Rangers.

Jimmy's alright with me.

Hey,Moneyball was nominated and I thought it was OK at best. For what it was (action genre) it was more exciting and well crafted than any other movie I saw in the last 5 years. The sandstorm scene alone was more well done than any Bond movie stunt in the last few 007 movies.

I agree with Jimmy...I thought MI4 was extremely well done, and provided just as much moviegoing entertainment as Moneyball (which I also liked). But action pictures have to be significantly greater than dramas just to be considered (and comedies have to be exponentially greater).

The Oscars overall sucked and to my surprise so did Billy Crystal. He wanted "safe" material. I need my hosts to be "edgy". Crystal was weak overall.

when has billy crystal ever been edgy?
In Spring Training with the Yanks?

Cameron Diaz looks like Jack Nicholson when he played the Joker. She needs to go away.

when has billy crystal ever been edgy? the oscars don't want edgy. every time they've had that, they nix the host. letterman will never host again; most likely, neither will jon stewart. they want safe.

The only time Crystal was ever edgy was on Soap.

Moneyball was overrated. It was an okay movie but you can tell they were trying too hard. I started watching the Artist but was distracted and had to pause it.

Did anyone see J Edgar? I know it was a disappointment but was a flick I was looking forward to for awhile.
