Organic farms produce much less product per acre. If you don't fertilize, use hybrid seeds or perticides, you lose crops to bugs, or weeds or you don't produce as much because you use inferior seeds.

Farmers markets are usually locally grown and (depending on) the butcher your will get somewhat local meat. There is a lot that goes into their mission statement and philosophy. They give to local farmers, and concerned about the enviornment and sustainability, among other things. I don't doubt there is a difference in quality and nutritional value between the organic foods at Jewel and the ones at whole foods. You said you've never been in one so how do you know if it's not worth it?

I still don't understand how people are starving.

Farmers Markets are great, but you can't exactly go shopping there week-to-week for groceries, even in the summer. It's more like "stumble upon a select food" and then decide at that point to make that part of your meal.

Local does not equal organic. I have no idea what you're talking about wtih the locally grown meats and produce.

What's not to understand here? Organic grown farms produce much lower yields. That's pretty much it. In a world where billions don't have enough to eat we grow organics that do not produce the maximum capacity of the land. Simple.

That's going to be true for any farm. There are some stats out there that the US throws out about half of its food. We are already prodcing more than is consumed. There was a show on not too long ago about it...maybe the food network had it. Don't know if that is still going. Some people believe the pesticides and engineered foods are not good or more harmful. I don't know how strongly I believe that but I wouldn't discount it either.

Will NSJ survive this assault on BF? The Ethnic Minority Lodge is pushing for his ban in the name of fairness.

Now it's the "Ethnic Minority Lodge"? I thought the original Lodge was disbanded after The Crew decided to split.

While many employees at the gay whole foods i believe are gay. I haved stated it as the gay whole foods due to it being in the heart of boystown. Most businesses there fly the gay flag....like Gay MART.

so. No i am not calling nsj gay..
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Whole Foods is a lot more exciting to go to than it is after you leave. My wife likes sushi and I don't so it's nice to go and I can eat pizza at the same table. However, when I leave I'm like "I just spent 22 dollars to get my own food and clear my own table to eat a piece of pizza and a 3 dollar green tea with 10 types of plant extract".

I just love that Someguy accuses me of some weird hating posts. lol

I am sure they have such a night, but it would be down the street at another establishment.
