XM's Center Ice was shredding Stan for the Oduya deal since he basically paid more for him than the Flyers paid for Kubina because he waited too long.

On top of it, the guy is an UFA so they probably will lose him at the end of the year. Not sure how to feel yet about Bowman. Going to give him another year before I turn into another of the meatheads calling for his head.

John Scott was bullshit. He either didn't dress at all or he played like three minutes a game, which put undue stress on everyone else's minutes. How many games this year and last did we, in effect, dress five defensemen? Too many. No wonder Duncan Keith is such a bag of shit now.

Hard to "enforce" when you're barely on the ice in the few games you're even dressed for. For someone who allegedly strikes fear in the hearts of men, our guys get their asses kicked on what's virtually a nightly basis. No one minds taking headshots against the Hawks because no one beats the shit out of them if they do, and any Chicago power plays that might result from taking liberties against them just lead to endless dithering at the perimeter and shorthanded breakaways. And the one time John Scott actually beat the shit out of a guy for a dirty hit, which was the Derek Engelland hit on Kruger, Pittsburgh got the power play (and power play goal) because Scott "instigated."

Overall, the "grit" experiment was a failure, because they're still being coached to instead punish on the power play, which would be terrific if they had any fucking clue in the world how to run a power play. What a mess.
