I like Mac, as far as his radio personality. I have no idea what he's like outside of the show; so I can't judge him on a personal basis. I've met him one time and it was at a remote, and he was cordial but I'm sure he had no idea who I was. I like his perspective a lot, and I've always been a big fan of his insistence on rocking the boat and not being afraid to ruffle feathers.

However, I don't understand the panic people have gotten into with Mac going on a "board vacation". As much as it's great to have his company, he doesn't seem to really, as a "board member", contribute all that much. The "Ask Mac" threads sometimes shed some light on things, but most of them are directed to one specific person and doesn't apply to anyone else, nor is it interesting to anyone else.

It reminds me of when I was on Howard Stern's BB. If he was on, there was a log jam. But all he'd be on for is to post some long winded argument about something--he rarely interacted with anyone. But people would act like it was the second coming of Christ if he was on the board.
However, the board was the most fun when he wasn't around. And actually I wound up having some great back-and-forth's with people like Dan the Song parody man and JD.

Now, I'm not saying that's how it is with Mac--but this board has a great pallette of personalities, and there are hella more interesting threads in sections other than MJ&H, and I've never seen Mac contribute to any of them. Do people really feel special that a celebrity is talking to them? You know they're just people too.

This board will survive without his input...take it easy, fellas. I'm with GD on this one. Sorry.

Mr. Skin sent me a hardcore hate mail for some shit I said about him on the old Stern board. You post on SFN?

Dolphin, i don't read the entire board in real time, and my comprehension and memory are a bit weak these days. So i missed a little/missed a lot with your peace brokering. But don't fret; you have nothing to "redeem", nor nothing to change. We all take shots at each other here and there...some are just more personal than others about it. And you have a lot of kindred spirits here.

We can all choose to read everything on this board, or not. We can all choose to be offended by something someone writes, or not. I have gone down all these paths and now prefer enlightenment, grasshopper. I don't think Mac needs a visit to the couch. He can simply choose "not".
