I was just a kid. I asked him about his "Follies Floater". He said they won't let him throw it in the NL.
He drew a smiley face on my Cub scorecard and was very cordial.

This reminds me of when I used to golf with some buddies on the weekend in the far north suburbs.
My buddy would come down from Milwaukee and we would play against his brother and another friend
of ours from IL every weekend and play skins matches and team games. I had a trophy made up and we called
it the Border Cup which we would play for every weekend and at the end of the match we would drink out
of it. We started running into famous people over the season and would have them sign it with a sharpie.
We got Bill Cartwright, a couple of golf pros, and one day Mr. Cub was in the clubhouse while we made the
turn. Everyone else was chicken to get him to sign the cup. I was socially lubricated enough to ask so I
took the cup and asked Mr. Banks if he could sign our cup and explained why we had it. He said, " well son,
let me finish my lunch and I'll sign it". So I sat with him for 5 minutes talking baseball and golf and he signed
it. That was a cool moment, surprised I forgot about that.

While I was still young and confused on which Chicago baseball team I should follow, I waited outside of the player's lot at Wrigley Field to get Sammy Sosa's autograph. He pulled up in some type of black foreign sports car along with some black foreign female sitting shotgun. I asked him to sign his picture in the program I had, but he just scribbled all over the page.

The funniest autograph story I've heard was when Stinkfinger went up to Scott Lucas of Local H. Only thing Stink had was an old check stub from his paycheck. Lucas signed the stub, circled the hourly wage and wrote "Oh No!" next to it.
