If you were to handicap which Monkee would live the longest, I highly doubt anybody would have picked this cat to go first.

Dolenz and Tork were complete 60s/70s drug culture freakazoids.

Nesmith appeared to be dying from boredom - and I'm surprised he didn't choke on that hat. Of course inheriting $25Mil from grandma for white-out was nice - reduces stress a bit.

Davy appeared to be living foot loose and fancy free - not a care in the world, and could have banged any woman born in the 60s or 70s - with no problem.

Peter Tork is recovering from jaw cancer.

This is a shame. I hope Davy gets equal treatment that Whitney got when she died. I want the flags flown at half staff all throughout England, and I want Daydream Believer played at every opportune for the next two weeks.

You are being facetious but I'm in agreement. I'd rate the Monkees over that crackheaded Caller Bob any day.

Yeah, I feel the same way. They were part of a generation. Whitney just another dime a dozen Diva.

The only reason you tired old Boomers get your shit played fifty years later is because there are so many of you that you've been defining American culture for several generations. You and your contemporaries have also presided over the fall of the greatest empire in recorded history. How does it feel?

Didn't it piss you off when "Ramble On" switched tracks right in the middle?

The only "tech" out there which allowed you to listen to two songs at once.

So Davy Jones meant more to the music industry than Whitney Houston?

I wouldnt put Davy Jones ahead of her but Whitney is waaaaay overrated now that she's dead and because of the timing of her death.

She was a real good singer.

Thats it.

I just think dying on Grammy's Eve made it more than it really was.

Id put her with Celine Dion, Bette Middler, and Mariah Carey

I dont consider them musical legends.

I would put Etta James ahead of her and she was barely mentioned.

Are you serious, RPB?

The only "singer" that could rival her was Mariah Carey.

Her Bodyguard Album alone sold 44 million copies, that's Top 5 OF ALL TIME.

You want to give her crap for smoking her talent away, cool....but to say she was overrated?

You dont think the timing of her death magnified things a bit?

I guess I just dont give Singers who dont play any instruments a lot of credit.

Being a good or even great singer just isnt that big a deal to me.

If Celine Dion or Mariah Carey dies, that wont be a huge deal to me either.

Im not sure what its going take to get you and Hova to understand that record sales does not = great music

Justin Bieber has sold a zillion records

Insane Clown Posse has gone platinum

Sorry, singers just dont do it for me (Unless they do something else or usher in new era or genre of music).

Whitney would have been great if she played the tambourine or pulled out the 'ole kazoo on a few tracks...

Saying Whitney Houston was a great singer = Insult?

I expect you Whitney fans to mourn the great Celine Diion with the same fervor when she finally dies

You called Whitney Houston overrated.

I'm not a fan of Celine Dion, but I know her place in history. I wouldn't call her overrated if she died.

I see.

So I'm the only one here who credits people that write, perform, AND sing the music over those that just sing?
