Due to nonpayment of rent and various other annoyances( major silverfish problems but I digress) , the Klan Brogue will need to lam it at the end of the month and unfortunately those hacks at ATT do not offer UVerse in the trailer park where we will be relocating so its back to those rotten fucks at Comcast / Xfinity for cable / internet service/. Ugh, I feel so dirty. :(

Im in a slightly similiar predicament.

I was trying to go sans cable, with Netflix on the PS3, and news/sporting events on the laptop to make a 90$ bill cost about 8$ but its just not gonna work

Especially with baseball coming back.

Hopefully they give me the new customer discount, even though I cancelled 2 months ago

Yeah, sports is the only thing that's keeping me subscribed to any cable. Fucking local game blackouts...

I would gladly pay $100/season if I could get access to Cubs games online. Same goes for Bulls too. I don't need the other 500 channels.

I think with the whole APP revolution we are getting closer to being able to get one channel at a time.

Ill take

MLB Network
Comcast Sports
ESPN
ESPNEWS
VH-1
TBS
TNT
CARTOON NETWORK
AMC
FX

You could charge 5$/month for each channel

I dont need Hallmark (I can buy Golden Girls DVDs), Lifetime, Food, TNN, MTV, etc

Being charged per channel is a great idea. Of course it will never happen.

Guys, I can't say I blame you not wanting MTV. "Jersey Shore"? "Teen Mom"? "The Real World"? Movies? Off-network reruns of "That '70s Show", "Martin", "The Wayans Bros.", etc? That's not the MTV I remember growing up...

Two questions based on the thread title:

1) How far is Comcast?

2) How much money is in your pocket?

I always wondered what genre those were supposed to fit in...

Well, TBS airs those, "House of Payne" & "Meet the Browns" to be exact. Then again, so does 26 The U...

As stupid as it sounds, I still would have a hard time living without ESPNNews.
I like the 30-minute long, all the highlights, stats, etc. plus the cut-ins when a game is close for a lot of sports.

Paladia (sp?) is by far the best music channel. Based solely on the fact that they play actual music.

Be careful what you wish for. In a pay per channel format sports programming would be most of the most expensive channels.

True, but it still could work out in a lot of cases, not having to pay for the other couple hundred channels that suck and don't carry sports.

Sports should rule everything in the world.

Paladia blows. They do play music, but 95% of it is garbage.

But nothing else plays any music at all. And Paladia doesn't have Snooki.

Apple is going to try to do this soon. Each channel will be an "app." They already bid on Euro-Soccer, they are still trying to solve the "sports" problem to solve that problem. We'll see.

If the pro leagues would just lift the god damn local blackouts, I could survive on Netflix, locals and online sports straight from the leagues.

It depends on how many sports you watch. I could probably survive on ESPN and BTN as it would give me all the football and basketball I want. Those who want to watch a ton of hockey and baseball would get screwed because the costs would skyrocket on the regional networks to make up for the lost revenue of millions of subscribers.

ESPN and it's networks would probably cost $30 a month alone.

Exhibit A in Spanky's choice of music.
