Yeah...he definitely portrays Tyrion exactly like I would imagine from the books.

He is awesome but I pictured Tyrion to be a much uglier and deformed looking.

No, even from the beginning... he is supposed to have an ugly multicolored beard (by cracky) and mismatched eyes.

I think the reaction of everyone else to him skewed my thinking but I pictured him to be more of a freak than just your run of the mill British dwarf.

I love that Panther is bothered by a thread that is less than informational.

No.

But I didn't picture Peter Dinklage as Tyrion in my mind's eye either.

Don't want to thumb through this entire thread in case there are spoilers, but do you guys feel it's worth it for me to start reading the books? Need to buy a couple on my Kindle for an upcoming trip and considering these.

Definitely. Especially if you like the show.

It really is a great series.

And a better Tyrion could never exist.

That is not how I pictured Brienne...but at least they didn't cast a 10 for ratings. I like how well this series has stuck to the books.

Exactly. I hope Brienne works out just as well.

Awesome. Yes I love the series. Watched it 3 or 4 times now I'd bet. I'll definitely pick up the books.

Welcome to the Nerdom of GoT Dan! I would make sure you get through Clash of Kings before watching season 2 - plenty more "HOLY SHIT!!" moments that are better read first.

mr. skin is on stern right now and mentioned the lesbian whore scene in GOT as one of the best nude scenes of the year. he just made howard a fan.

interesting compliment mr. skin made: "only on hbo could you have a show that's well written, well acted AND takes time out to have a full out 4 minute lesbian sex scene."

I'm going to start this trilogy this week.

It is decent so far, almost done with the first book.

I'm 33% into the 2nd book. I like them alot, as usual jackref is on his game suggesting books.

Well...I think it may be just the timing of of it. He is still going to the Iron Islands, well, at least we know that much in the show so who knows where it goes from there but the series is faithful to the books.

The difference is in his personality through the whole season1 and this first ep of season 2 or just season 2?

well he becomes a real prick in "clash of kings"...so unless he makes a 180 degree turnaround once he makes it to the iron islands...he's kind of homogenized. kinda like what they did with the hound.

I think that prick transformation happens when he reaches the Iron Islands, right? Either way, his dad is a huge cock-head.

IIRC his first chapter in COK is when he's on his way and he's cocky and bratty...but i don't remember him being with king robb and being that nice to him in the book...although it's been a while now since i read it.
