Johnson was better at catching passes which is the most important thing for a reciever.

Regardless, you've got Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Moss, and TO going in before either of them. They both will have a long wait.

Right, but Carson Palmer was pretty awesome for a few of those years, and they threw the ball a lot. Hines never played with a QB of that caliber, and mostly played in a run oriented offense. Has a Super Bowl MVP, 2 rings, still has 1,000 catches. And I'm going with what all the players and analysts say and agree he was one of the best blocking receivers of his era. I agree that's not nearly as important as pass catching, but it was a significant part of the success of the Steelers offense during his time there. Guys like Parker and Bettis have said he was really valuable to their success, without mentioning any other receivers.

Palmer was a better passer for his little few year run

But never got to see him in the playoffs.

Up until the past couple seasons were pretty pedestrian numbers wise. We are talking Palmer pre-playoff injury.

I would take Ochocinco over Ward. The Steelers D did far more to help those teams win than Ward did. Either way I agree with Frank that neither of them go in until Brown, Carter, TO and Moss are in. By that time you probably will have other guys to make arguments for and Ward gets bumped out for sure.

Agree on Brown and Carter. Those are ridiculous.

I think Hines body of work is better. I consider both of them borderline HOFers that probably won't get in because of the aforementioned guys before them.
