I'm the opposite. I love the offensive driving in Chicago.

I'm OK with the crazy highway traffic. I can't handle people making a right turn from the left lane across 3 lanes of traffic while a bicycle is doing 20 MPH within 3 inches of my car.

I've found Grayslake to be fairly normal in my travels. Round Lake Beach is depressing. Zion...hoo boy, the stories of that place.

Back in my younger days, we used to have to go through Zion to get to Winthrop Harbor to go fishing. That is a strange little backwards place. Round Lake blows. North Chicago isn't much better.

Come on Brick, you know why.
Is it because he has terrible thoughts on college basketball?

That maybe part of it, but you know why.

North Chicago has one of the best barbecue places I've ever been to. Probably the best outside of Memphis. Other than that...

Wasn't Winthrop Harbor a Klan town?

"Rosen Rosen Dat Cam." What a spot!

Nice of Elmhurst Steve to call in.

There was a BBQ place in Waukegan that was pretty good...Hillary's IIRC. I heard that it closed, though.

The gf and her friend have groupons for some BBQ place in Grayslake that I will be trying soon.

It starts in Grayslake...that is a weird little town. Unfortunately, it also has the closest 7-11 to the house.

 Phew! I am glad I live north of Hwy 50. 8) I can't really argue with a lot of your points though.
All the towns along Lake Michigan from North Chicago to the Wisconsin border probably take the cake
although Round Lake would belong in that group.

There is a Hillary's still in operation up here in Kenosha. I have yet to try it. It is carryout only.

You need 1 and done guys in this conference or you'll get your wang knocked in. - Bernstein, near exact quote

There hasn't been a Freshman or Sophomore from the Big Ten taken in the 1st round since BJ Mullens was taken 24th in the 2009 draft.

Eric Gordon and Kosta Koufos in 2008.

The 3 OSU guys in 2007.

Not exactly an overflowing basket.

Maybe Sullinger and Leonard this year.

After that presser, you have my condolences Doc.

Groce: "I can talk for an hour about what makes an Illinois guy"

If you need an hour, you sound like a JC guy.

Robert Smith (nor any other city/suburban coach) was impressed.

Dan gave that caller every chance to wriggle off the hook with the "I wanted a black coach" thing.

Unfortunately it is real....

He made it sound like Chicago was this bad and mean place...is that how downstaters view us?

My GF lives in Waukegan and she says that the people there would rather go to Milwaukee than Chicago any day, because of all of the bad things they hear about the city.

I think my description of the student body was correct a couple of weeks ago.

We need some angry callers complaining that all these drops are hurting Illini recruiting.

Illinois has officially become (if it was not already) a second rate athletic program. Dr. Ken will soon be reduced to bragging about women's field hockey

STUPID CALLER ALERT!

By the way, if Zach Zaidman would like to start his show following Connor McKnight's 3p "Scoreboard Update", I'm cool with that. Not exactly what Bernsy had in mind coming back from vacation...

Bernstein just accidentally made it known that he was talking about Sean Miller at Arizona when he said the guy at a top ten program who was unhappy with the AD.

By Terry's logic, Jim Calhoun and Coach K are horrible coaches also. They were coaching in those games too.

I think we all can agree that anyone who thinks Coach K is overrated is out their damn mind....
