I would go up to strangers and hand them a 10,000 dollar check.Spend a few hours a day doing that. To help out regular guys pay some bills would give me a great deal of joy. It seems like everybody is struggling nowadays.

I could make a reality show out of it and make even more money.

Buy a cabin on a lake somewhere in northern WI as a summer home

Do some research and move somewhere warm on a really nice country club in warmer climates for the winter

Probably do some travelling over in Europe for a month or two, also Austrailia, Japan, New Zealand and Fiji

Buy some nice cars

Donate money to buy a state of the art facility for the Boxer Rescue organization where I got my dogs

Probably help some close friends and family put their kids through college when the time comes

Can't think of anything else, I am really a pretty simple guy. I am sure I would throw some money at
some good causes when I saw fit.

I think I would actually try to buy a minor league baseball team. I would probably try to get one of the Midwest League teams, possibly Beloit with the intention of relocating them to the Northwest suburbs.

When one of you wins and wants a personal brewer and/or distiller, I will make myself available!

Just open a Brewpub. I would apply to be an assistant brewer.

Application accepted! If I won I would certainly open a brewpub, I was simply offering my services to others who may win :D

Which one?

When I said a, I meant some. Nothing really flashy...not really a car guy. I would get the Dodge Charger that I want, though.

The best part about winning the lottery is being immune to depression.

This says nothing about depression.

Of course it does, but that's kind of like saying putting butter on moldy bread makes it better. It's true, but the underlying problem still exists.

And us smart folk believe that this blanket statement does not apply to everybody who gets rich quick.

Is anybody else even slightly considering paying Nas the $3 you-know-who stole so we don't have to read about it anymore threads?

Also - how much to ban the likes of JimmyReardon and douchebag forever?

Peanut butter would just be a cover up. It wouldn't reduce the mold.
You don't understand the analogy then. Your stance is that money buys happiness and that would solve the depression issues. Getting money would not reduce the depression. Now, if your depression is caused solely by financial debt then obviously this could fix it, but that is pretty much never true. Being in debt can contribute but normally depression is linked with more personal reasons such as family or friends. These type of things can't be covered up by having money. In the short term, it would probably be enough of a distraction but depression is not a poor persons disease. Anyone can have it.

immessedup17 wrote:

The problem is that for every issue it lessens it adds others. Lottery winners often lose friends and have to deal with friends asking/begging for money. Solid marriages end at a fairly high rate once this major life change happens. It's easy to lose most of the money fairly quickly, though $540 million would likely last a while.

This would be a case where money does in fact buy me happiness.
