I just don't understand. Say you earn 4 million after taxes. Put 2 mil in the bank and live lavishly on the other 2mil. I just don't think it's that complicated.

I'd love to say I'm shocked, but it is a common story you see with athletes: They come from poor SES backgrounds, never are taught how to take care of their money properly, additionally they want to help out friends and family (as we all do) and next thing you know they are living paycheck to paycheck...and then the paycheck runs out and...

A great business opportunity would be to become a financial planner and go scout top athletes at colleges and universities, it seems like it is an untapped market.

The Packers have a program where they work with the guys on planning for their futures outside of football including job training and financial planning. I have not heard a story since this program started about any of their former players being broke.

sapp is a dummy no doubt..but i gotta imagine that the 4 kids by 4 women is what is killing him..if athletes are dumb enough to get played for tens of thousands a month for child support...when they retire and earn less that sum should drop dramatically..getting an athlete to nut inside you should not be a lottery ticket for life.
