I completely agree. It's not like those opponents wouldn't cause the Bulls to break a sweat if Rose sat, but to claim the Bulls get bounced in the first round with or without Rose is entirely ludicrous.

The Bulls probably could win their first round NBA Playoff series without Derrick if it came to fruition, especially if the Bucks or freefalling Sixers are the opposition. Right now, if the Bulls hang on to the #1 seed, Philadelphia is their first round opponent.

However, back to "Waddle & Silvy" for a moment. ESPN's Mike Tirico, who calls the national broadcast with Hubie Brown this eve at 8:30p, was also on. Tirico thinks, without naming teams, there might be a surprise or two come playoff time, especially with all the injuries around the league in this crammed schedule.

My guess is Rose would play through these injuries for the playoffs. But he has been taking a beating and will have to change his style of play. He better work on that jump shot in the off season.

His jump shot has gotten noticeably better every year he's been in the league.

If tonight's Knicks/Bulls' game was a playoff game, Derrick plays. I bet he plays Thursday vs. LeBron's Heat.

And I think he has made a change in his game over the past year and a half to cut down on the beatings he is taking. The floater he brought into his offensive game has really dropped down the contact he absorbs. But the shots he takes when he goes inside are still troubling.

Rose missed a total of 6 games over three seasons before this.

Not exactly injury prone

It is unusual to say the least, but this is not a traditional NBA season either, RP.

I don't see the Bulls getting the first seed so they may play the Knicks and they should still win, but again, it wouldn't SURPRISE me to see them lose. They've peaked to soon and with the injuries, I could see it happening. The Knicks are playing defense now so anything can happen. It may just not be their year and they may just get bounced. I've seen it happen before.

Right now, if the Bulls hang onto the #1 seed, the Sixers, not the Knicks, would be their first round opponent with New York getting the #2 seed Heat instead. That would be fine with me. What would also be fine with me...A first round date with the Bucks, although that loss to the Thunder last night dropped them to a game and a half out of the last playoff spot in the East.

The one difference...If the Knicks & Heat clash in Round 1, you won't have Jeff Van Gundy on someone's leg like in a previous playoff series between the 2.

They've played all season and had the best record basically since February. This was Rose's first game back and went 8-26 against a team who has struggled against PGs all season. Plus Melo played his absolute A game. Id say that was much closer to an anomaly than a trend. Rose's newest re-injury doesn't sound like it will still effect him three weeks from now. Im not really worried.

It was the Anthony the Knicks have waited for since they got him from Denver...

I agree with you, but my point is he will have to quit with the crazy awesome drives into the bigs. He won't be able to take that punishment. He will have to turn into a jump shooter to survive. No one is scared to challenge a guy that small.

The Bulls only have a 1 game lead in the loss column vs. Miami with 2 games left against Miami. Not good IMO relative to getting that # 1 seed...

Miami has also been struggling the past few weeks also, just like the Bulls.

Derrick "Wilted" Rose. He is of weak stock. Right now, half the league has guys playing with a lot worse than a sprained ankle.

Peyton Manning is such a pussy. Missed 16 games, played in ZERO in 2011. You need your QB to be much less injury prone than Manning in order to have adequate stability.

Broken bone is different from 20 different injuries. Kobe plays with worse injuries and he's 80.

Not good. Probably would have been much better if their star QB, Manning, wasn't so injury prone.

I pointed out the fallacy of said statement.

Jordan was skinnier in 1985 than Rose is today.
