Solid first episode. Spoilers follow.






Raylan is recovering from getting shot and his aim is off. He starts out on desk duty. The scene with Boyd was great.

Boyd: If I had that kind of money, is be in Mexico.
Raylan: I've been to Mexico. You wouldn't like it.
Boyd: Why's that?
Raylan: Cause there's Mexicans.

Boyd gets sent to jail for beating up Raylan cause Raylan didn't hand Dickie over to Boyd. Didn't make sense at the time, but does by the end.

Neal McDonough is the new boss of the this part of Dixie Mafia. He comes down from Detroit to collect on the loan they gave Emmitt. Emmitt hires a crazy killer named Ice Pick Fletcher to do work and he kills someone and steals watches from him. McDonough's unnamed character doesn't like him and sets him up to be captured by the Marshals. Fletcher realizes what's up and doesn't get caught. Instead he goes to pay Raylan a visit.

Raylan helps Tim question Wynn Duffy about the murder and goes to see Emmitt. He runs into Fletcher in the elevator, but doesn't know it. Emmitt's secretary tells Raylan about Emmitt meeting with Fletcher tonight. It's a setup from McDonough.

McDonough kills Emmitt and his poor secretary. Probably after banging her. So Wynn Duffy seems to be back in the game.

With Boyd in jail, Devil, Arlo, and Ava try to unload the weed they stole from the Bennetts after Mags killed herself. They didn't take care of it and find its worthless. Boyd tells Ava to burn it as it could cause problems. Devil doesn't like that and mouths off to Ava, who smashes him with a frying pan.

Ice Pick is waiting at the hotel for Raylan and Winona. He tries to play a game with Raylan but ends up getting shot.

Dickie and Dewey Crowe are talking in jail when Boyd comes walking in. Dickie realizes he's there to kill him for shooting Ava.

Like I said, solid episode. Natalie Zea still hot.

Love this show. Carla Cugino is going to be on this season. She is hot as well.

Alan Sepinwall is a writer at HitFix.com, and he said something about her character being based on Karen Sisco, which is the role Gugino played on a short-lived ABC show and the role J-Lo played in that Clooney movie from 12 or so years ago. They're all Elmore Leonard characters.

Justified is a GREAT show. Always been a sucker for a character who's a badass with a heart of gold, going back to the first year of NYPD Blue with David Caruso. I think Caruso's terrible now, but he was freaking awesome in NYPD Blue.

Love the idea of Boyd getting himself tossed in jail on purpose so he can go after Dewey. Hopefully they drag that out for a few eps cause I would love to see Boyd take over the jail and run shit for a while, that's gonna be some good tv.


the guy from Dexter was great as Ice Pick. Hopefully he is around more than just the one episode, but that seems doubtful considering how it ended.
