I've heard reports where it says no major changes. That's kind of wrong. Bears have always had their numbers on the sleves. Now they are on the shoulder pads. No big deal. But it is a change. That move has let Nike make the Bears three stripes bigger on the sleves. The GSH patch is now bigger as well. I think it looks sharper. Here's the new and old look.

Bears players started to tuck the stripes so they were tight and you couldn't see them. This started in 90s some time. Now with the numbers being moved to the shoulder pads, the strpes will be visable. In the old days the sleves were much bigger and the three orange stripes were bigger on the Bears uniforms as well. Players used to let them hang and not tuck them in. That's how Back in the days the players didn't tuck in their sleeves so you'd always see the bears stripes. Here's how Walter wore his jersey. You can see the punky QB in the backround the same way. No tuck job. Players don't do this now. They don't want to give a defenders any change to grab a loose jersey. With this new style, the stripes will be more pronounced. So it's a sharper look.

I'm very disappointed that there is no significant changes to the uniforms Nike created. They had to have this big time unveiling and you moved the numbers to the shoulder pads. Talk about over blown hype for nothing. Now I understand it was more than likely the NFL's call on not making huge changes to the uniform but if that's the case, do we really need to hype up the new jerseys being released on a certain day like Nike did.

Hard to make huge changes to a charter franchise. They are subtle but I think it looks sharp.

boring...couldn't they have at least created a concept jersey even if it was not going to be worn a game day

I was just thinking this. They should do a game with a futuristic jersey instead of a throwback. That would be cool.

B.)bad jerseys for fake teams in bad football movies.

No thanks. Those were terrible when baseball tried it.

One game wouldn't kill them if they weren't absolutely off the wall. I hate the orange jerseys
and they do that.

Those jerseys were pretty sharp. One jersey you won't see anymore...Orange you glad they're going away?

They're a little too colorful for me, especially Pittsburgh and their gay arm band.

Personally, I'd rather there be one home uniform and one away uniform. But... the home & away uni's were there mostly for black & white TVs. Do we need them anymore? Truly, one uniform per team is enough.

(Yeah, yeah, I'm ignoring the needs of Nike, wrt replica jerseys they can sell. And insodoing, I'm also ignoring the need for the "pumpkin" and retro uni's. Although, I *could* handle the "pumpkin" if that became the official one. The retro one bugs me...)

They can't go with just one colored uniform for every team. You still need the whites. Too many teams have similar colors. What would happen when the Colts play the Giants. Or when the Bears play the Broncos? QB gets spun around and doesn't know who the hell is on his team.

Hey all, first post.

This is a cap from madden 13, so obviously it could just be something from the game but still:

Image

The shoulder numbers are obviously wrong, but the orange pants might just be a new kind of wrong.

Don't think the team would retire the orange jerseys just to premier orange pants that are arguably more stupid looking.
