Castro looks at a fastball down the middle for strike 3. I've seen enough of DeJesus, he is awful. Bryd blows to, but move him to Right and call up Jackson. Rizzo should be up, as well. So far Team Theo's moves have been "ehh" at best. The Marshall trade looks really bad, DeJesus is bad, and Ian Stewart is garbage.

Stewart has looked better than I thought. DeJesus is bad and they should have unloaded Byrd already before his value decreases even more. Rizzo/BJax will be up at some point but might as well give them more seasoning given how shitty this bullpen is. I was skeptical of the Marshall trade as I thought they could get more but time will tell to see how the guys they got in return turn out.

If Byrd is still a Cub by ,May, I will be stunned, his bat looks slower then last year.

Isn't it still like the first week of the season?

It really only took 1 game to know this team is as bad as most thought. I see no sense in keeping the dead weight. Wood should have never been bought back, Byrd should be gone, etc...if they are going to go young, go young.

Don't minor-leaguers get counted for a year of major league service if you call them up before June? Which then speeds up the process of them becoming eligible for arbitration and free agency? Which was the arguable mistake the Cubs made with Starlin Castro in 2010 - panicking and calling him up too early.

it would feel like productive losing if kerry wood and david dejesus were not on this team..both were dumb ass signings...as i said at the time it was done...dumb...camp is horrendous and should be released

The most important thing is for these guys to play everyday which is what they are doing in AAA. They will be up soon enough. They really need to take whatever they can get for Byrd sooner than later. Then when he is gone Jackson can hold down center and Rizzo can hold down 1st. LaHair can then be in the corner outfield mix.

I know its only been 5 games but Byrd looks like shit in all facets of the game. Not good for a guy they are trying to showcase and trade.

As a yut, I used to have problems throwing strikes. I started coming over the top more, just like Scott Sanderson. Huge improvement. True story.

Sveum saying "We are in every game...blah,blah"

Looks like back-to-back bald headed cheerleaders.
So at least the Cubs have that covered.

Funny how he lost all that "weight" from last year's Richard Conti "health" program.

I like the Cubs chances today, I think Roenicke had a stroke making out the Brewers line-up.

Hart and Braun get the day off because he feels sorry for how uncompetitive the Cubs are. Think of it as Matt Flynn day and they will still win.

The crowd chanted "Herp-es Cream" when Braun batted last night.

Couple of guys tried to get the "Fed Ex!" chant going, it didn't take quite as well.
