Pop is definitely underrated, I'm with you there. I just don't think Duncan would made it through a stacked PF-western conference in the 90's.

Pau Gasol wasn't better than David Robinson and acting like Duncan played with a bunch of bums or role players is wrong.

Are you kidding me? We're talking about '99 Robinson, not '94 Robinson. By '99 he was a borderline All Star. Tony Parker wasn't considered an above average starting PG til after '05. Manu was never considered a real All Star-caliber player. So try explaining again how I'm wrong for saying he played with borderline All Stars and role players.

Bruce Bowen was a terrible defender

Tim Duncan deferred to Brent Barry

Fabricio Oberto would have had a better career than Tim Duncan if he didn't get a heart condition.

He averaged 22 and 11

Rajon Rondo is still the beneficiary of playing with three future hall of famers, and while he's good, he isn't one of the top point guards in the league. That's why Boston is so willing to trade him and why no team is jumping over themselves to take him. I'd rather have Rose, Westbrook, Paul, Williams, and probably Irving.

Look again. He averaged 15.5 and 10. His numbers were worse across the board than Pau's in 2009/2010 except for blocks. You're looking at 1998.

Don't you think it's at least a little disingenuous to call Pierce Allen and KG future HOFers in this context? None of them are top 5 players at their position currently.

Not really because they still are capable players who have to be respected especially during the important games. Also, the Celtics have seen a pretty steep decline which coincides with them not being the same players they were. The best Celtic teams were when they were dominant. Now that it doesn't happen as much they aren't nearly as good as they were and have been passed by two teams, and may be be passed by another few teams soon.

I think that the success of Boston has pretty much been on how good or bad those three have been. Rondo has put up some nice numbers and the team has still continued to decline.

I don't know enough about either player to say this, but do you think Wall would be just as effective as Rondo on this team?

No, not even close. Wall's decision making is the worst in the league possibly besides Westbrook. Thats possibly Rondo's best attribute. He doesnt often get credit for this but he's one of the smartest players in the league. He knows EXACTLY where and when Pierce, Allen, and KG want the ball. Everything starts with him on both sides of the ball. He's 10x the defender Wall is and that's the side of the ball that Boston hangs its hat on.

Of course Boston has declined as the big three have and as Rondo has improved. That stands to reason though and I dont see how its an indictment of Rondo. If you replaced Miami's big three with three role players and Chris Paul, they wouldnt be as good. Thats just numbers. 3 stars are better than 1. And right now Rondo is the unequivocal star of that team. How many players from the past 30 years can put up 18-17-20 in a game? Maybe 5 or 6?

I despise hate crime laws.

There shouldn't be a more severe penalty for what you were thinking when you committed a crime.

This is what happens when you wander out of the Movies & TV section too often.

Basketball is the most overrated of the 3 major sports.

The Brady Bunch sucks.
Whitney is a funny show.
Will Ferrel is the greatest comedic actor of the 21st century.

1 & 4 you got right. Still, you can hit better than .500. And just an awful Dunn-esque strikeout on #2.

Kid has Red above him? I know he ranks Pops 3rd, like most do. I have it ranked as Phil, Pop, Red. But I'm very willing to admit age bias in there.
