Yes, I know $100 is an issue, but I still think it is a weak reason not to attend and tell me $25 made the choice for you, as if you would not get your moneys worth.

Some thoughts.

Maybe a good parody song by someone that does something like that ?? hmmmm?

How about a few athletes that have their asses kissed all day, let them take some shots at these guys? That would have been pretty funny. Even funnier for some EX athletes who could really let loose.

Maybe a team owner with some similar comments?

Couldn't one bridge be mended with one ex employee?

mini auction with some OLD Score stuff? Couldn't find an 820 mug for charity??? Silent auction?

Stand up / Sit Down game for some other giveaway? i.e. Ever been to a remote, stay standing, etc.

if you had all these guys who would not attend and hate the current score so much, then how about "Who was the worst of the ex guys contest?" Live voting.

give me North on a phone call, let him drop some F bombs via phone. Someone has to have some relationship with him. Spaceball????

Could go on and on, but I will let all the positive thinking folks here come up with some of the great suggestions they usually do.

The thing about athletes coming in and for lack of a better word "roasting" the guys is a good idea. I'm sure AJ, Charles Tillman, Chris Harris, and some others I can't think of now would've been more than willing to come out be rip on the media.

Silent auctions/giveaways should have been obvious.

I just think if you're gonna do an Anniversary thing, you have to have everyone come back. Or at least most of the major players.

I have 2 autographed bowling pins from North's Bowlarama events. A Tom Shaer Breakfast Club membership card. Great photos from Bowlarama and Norths show from Basta Pasta. Great memories. Nobody at that party though is terrible. glad i don't have that memory.

Hosts should have been there.

A few months ago M&S read reviews of the score when they first started. They told stories...could have had the hosts tell worst moments, best moments, behind scenes stuff. Played clips of callers or athletes. Maybe some sort of Q&A, about who are their favorite callers, best to work with, favorite time orera, players, interviews. Or trivia or then and now type thing? Some of the stuff that pasta has could have been talked about.

Give aways or auctions should have been there.

Some sort of listener thing too. Not sure if it would be a regular contributor, longest listener, funniest...or like the VIP listener table thread. Listener trivia at the tables? fill out a card of questions get prizes.

I wonder what the Score's answer to this question would be:

"What is the purpose of the Roast?"

If the answer is, give the fans anything... they failed. If the answer was celebrate the Score and the history of the station, it seems they failed.

If the real answer had to do with selling tickets, or advertising, then at least it all makes sense.

I think that it was good for people who have never met any of the current daily guys.

Otherwise, to me, it was no different than a remote. Except you could drink coke and UV vodka all night for free.

1. Make it mandatory that all current WSCR hosts attend.

2. Insure that former WSCR "all star" hosts attend.

3. Have an all star WSCR listener/caller segment/bit/roundtable with the all time greats like Irish Bill, Cleveland Mike, Cheesehead Scott, etc...

4. Do a live version of "WYC" with the classic crappers.

5. Do a Q & A with the audience.

Have a panel with Scorehead and Spada to tell everybody how much better the station would be if they were in charge.

Treat it like the annual DC Press Club dinner, where even the POTUS gets up to roast the press. I wonder if Lovie would have been willing to step in to take a few shots at Lawrence. They could have taped a couple of minutes with Ozzie.

The event seems like it was the station congratulating itself. This is fine and appropriate. They should have also had an event open to everyone. I wouldn't have to be free drinks or food but simply a chance to get to see "your guys" in a casual setting...almost like a Score convention.

The thing I would have liked to see is for the station to treat it like a "year of the Score" with little things througout the year....have a few events, provide some special programming, give a one hour shift to a listener (I know it would be shitty but also fun)...none of this costs a dime. This anniversary provided the promotions department a blank slate to do any creative thing they wanted. The blank slate was met with blank stares.

I would really like to see them have some Friday night/weekend shifts devoted to "best of" shows. I think it would also be smart to have that guy who wrote the history come in and do at least one shift.

The Score doesn't have anyone who can do this.

They could have asked Shakey Suntriss to give it a try.
