For those wondering if NOW's the time to send the Jason Hervey-looking Gordon Beckham down to Triple "A" Charlotte, check out the following:

Really getting close to joining the "checking out of B&B" club. We know Hawk says odd/dumb things. Mac & Meat have fun with it. Play sound drop, laugh a bit, then move along. B&B turn it into a full-on debate to bait the 'tards out of the shadows.

Might be able to hit something in the NL but... yeah. Beckham is kind of sucky.

Oh he absolutely believes that.

You're dadgum right. The way Gordon Beckham fields, team are gonna want him regardless. I'll tell ya what. He reminds me a whole lot of Jerry Adair.

Guys, I bet Bernsy will say the same tonight after the Bulls beat up another NBA punching bag in the Wizards at United Center and vs. the really, really bad Bobcats in Charlotte Wednesday night.

I did hear when Addison Reed tries to get in Beckham's car, he keeps pulling forward making Reed chase the car.

Beckham is a weird case.

It seems he never adjusted to the adjustments.

Still believe he can be good.

Beckham made a surprise visit to the SCORE Studios on the White Sox off day this past Thursday. I wonder if he swung & missed after getting grilled by Bernsy...

I think at the three year mark you've got a good idea of what you're really got here which is decent defense and absolutely nothing at offense. Might as well have Aaron Miles.
Beckham can't hit. He did ok for like half a year and then nothing. Holding on and hoping is so... so cubbie.

I would love to see Rudy Jaramillo, hitting genius, get to him.

But MLB has a history of players figuring it out later. Especially high picks.

Jaramillo was a much better genius in Texas.

Are you suggesting Juan Gonzalez wasn't a result of a superior education in technique? Darkside says pish posh.

Aaron Miles...Wasn't he a Dodger last year? If the White Sox did part with Beckham, I know there's a guy in the Sox minor league system, Tyler Kuhn, but I don't think he's ready for the majors right now.

A few years ago, there were 2 other guys, Orlando Hudson & Mark Ellis, who were on the White Sox radar as free agents. They are now playing second base elsewhere, Hudson in San Diego & Ellis signed with the Dodgers after he split last year in Oakland & Colorado. Not sure if Brent Lillibridge would be a short-term solution, let alone Eduardo Escobar, who played at second yesterday. Right now, those are the options.

Just for the record, there were a lot of questions about Baylor and there have been for a few years. For instance, here is something from 2010 that I believe was unrelated to the newest allegations. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/14/sports/ncaabasketball/14baylor.html

So, Boers is just kind of making up this "Goody Two Shoes Baylor" thing.

PTFB-time.

And the "they" that Jim Leyland was referring to we're the "experts" who picked the Sox to be last when Robin Ventura was hired.

Too early on the week for such tedious radio.

Was Leyland that impressed or did he smoke a cigarette after his team beat the Sox yesterday?

Bernstein's gal won the Pullitzer. Don't believe he has touched on this yet.

Penn State scandal coverage leads to Pulitzer
Sara Ganim, a crime reporter for the Patriot News in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was announced Monday as a 2012 Pulitzer Prize winner for her coverage of the Penn State football sex abuse scandal.

Ganim, 24, is the second-youngest winner of a Pulitzer in the award's history. Jackie Crosby was 23 when she won the award with Macon Telegraph and News colleague Randall Savage for their in-depth examination of academics and athletics at Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia.

Ganim was 22 when she started covering the Penn State scandal, long before it became a national story. She joined the staff of the Patriot News after graduating from Penn State in 2008. Her reporting on the scandal has been praised by several other outlets, including the Baltimore Sun and ESPN, and garnered multiple awards, including the George K. Polk Award, the Sidney Award, and the 2011 Scripps Howard Award for Community Journalism.

Jury selection for the sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky is scheduled to begin on June 5. Former Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and former university vice president Gary Schultz are due in court on June 1 for a status conference on their perjury case. Both former PSU officials are charged with lying to the grand jury investigating Sandusky.

He smoked too much pot so they released him and he never really played again. Strange story.

Offensively yes. Defensively, he was a liability at shortstop.

Yay Sara Ganim winning the Pulitzer. Good for her!

I haven't been this attracted to a Pulitzer Prize winner since Bob Woodward.
