Zippy, I get that, but the playoffs haven't even begun yet so all we have to go off of is the regular season. And according to BernSTINE the regular season is meaningless, no tries hard to win, you can't tell anything from it etc...so how does he know for a fact that the Heat are the better team this season? The whole point is that BernSTINES assertion that the Heat are the clearly superior team is based on regular season performance and BernSTINE continually tells the unwashed masses that the regular season is meaningless and shows you nothing.

And I agree, the playoffs are a different beast entirely, no argument from me there.

On a serious note, these injuries do have me worried. They seem too be piling up on important body parts for no apparent reason.

K.C. also indicated that his guy(S) said they wanted Rose to play...had to play. That is the Bulls mindset for Rose.

The Bulls haven't done anything wrong, and they're not going to do anything wrong.

All of these injuries, not just the Bulls' Derrick Rose, are also happening to other top stars from around the NBA. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant might be out yet again tonight with a shin injury (?) when they host the Spurs this eve in the second game of an NBA/TNT twinbill that starts with Celtics/Knicks. I think these injuries, while they are concerning, are also the direct result of this crammed NBA schedule that can't end fast enough in my opinion. In a regular NBA 82-game sked, I'm not so sure Bryant, Rose and other top stars around the league would be missing as many games as they have.

In Derrick's case, I was a little confused regarding his latest setback. I thought it was his right foot as well, but listening to the Bulls Radio Network broadcast up the dial, Chuck Swirsky & Bill Wennington said it was the right ankle, and on NBA TV's continuous crawl, I noticed DNP (right ankle) as they showed the Wizards' 87-84 final during "GameTime" this morning. Hmmm...

According to everything I've read, the latest injury isn't believed to be serious. That being said, I wouldn't be shocked if Derrick Martell Rose sits out the Charlotte game tomorrow night and if he's good to go, he plays in Miami Thursday night. All of a sudden, that game means something in the race for the #1 seed in the East, which is now no longer a sure thing.

So Rodman being out for 2 weeks for kicking a cameraman in the dick is different than being out for 2 weeks with an injury?

Is he on the floor? No? There is no difference.

What was that? I thought Dennis Rodman got suspended for kicking that cameraman in the nuts up in Minnesota over a decade ago...

Lately I've been noting my PTFB moment in their show. I don't always know the exact time and yes, sometimes I inadvertently switch/click back. Today, according to DB, pro basketball expert/guru:
Exhibition season means nothing (except the opportunity to predict a team to be bad).
Regular season means nothing (except confirming a team is bad & won't do well in playoffs).
First round of playoffs mean nothing as the team with the best talent wins.

This is when I PTFB because the leap of logic was too much.

Of course, I got into my car and the radio was on when the discussion got around to hockey and the Shaw suspension. Their ignorance of the ramifications are what first struck me, then:


It isn't an intellectual approach to hockey, but an elitist's approach with a foundation based upon entrenched ignorance. Said elitism also creeps into basketball. As a listener, one can take the same approach to the media in general and sports radio in particular.
