I'd like to thank the Cubs for at least helping my fantasy team out this week. Hanley Ramirez had a big series, hopefully Stubbs can get some steals and runs this weekend.

He already has.

Hopefully they just shelve him and be done with it. Let the guy have his honorary mascot ambassador position and call it a day, enough with this farce pretending he can still play baseball.

Part of his contract (I believe) was becoming part of the franchise, ala a heritage thing/guy/whatever that makes appearances and does team stuff.

I am liking the DeJesus signing. He may not be the best hitter, but that fucker can get on base.

I haven't heard much about his game calling skills or defense. The minor league hitting numbers are pretty consistent.

Supposedly, they are not bad. The knock on him is his power numbers. That is why Welington Castillo is considered a better prospect.

was at the game today. Good times. As usual, they get the win with Clevenger behind the plate.

What the hell does Clevenger have to do to get some more playing time. He has more hits than the big vajay in about 1/8 of the games.

The Cubs don't need a stellar offense with Cy Wells going today. A couple runs should do the trick.

Let's hope he doesn't get shelled like he has been at AAA.

Al Boreland hasn't done anything yet....but Soriano just missed one that went for a double but I will say, as did Len and Bob, that the wind combined with his shift for Votto really fucked things up.

It took him 31 pitches to get in and out of that mess.

I love how Bob cut to a shot of Clevenger on the bench as Soto was striking out and said how Soto should be feeling some pressure from Clevenger and his 10 hits!! He also made sure to give alot of respect to Hanigan who IMO is a great catcher that just doesn't have the flashy power numbers.

I doubt Bob determines who they cut to in the shots.

But I do imagine watching Soto has to be a frustrating deal for a guy who used to be a catcher.

I saw him shred the Texas league a few years back for the Cards but he never really did much once being called up....until now.

LaHair!!! He has been a solid hitter thus far in his entire Cub big league career.

But haven't all the experts around here continued to say he was just a AAAA player?
