Good episode, I thought it was one of the better ones of the season. Littlefinger is even more a dick on the show. I love that he thought he could sort it out with Catelyn after bring Eddard's bones back to her. "Fate has brought us together" He is nothing if not persistent.

When the Dothraki show up at the gates, was that an envoy of sorts or was all that's left of the tribe?

It seemed like they're weren't many Dothraki there.

They are weak but they have the wild card with the dragons which makes them very scary.

When Khal Drogo died last season, all of the warriors left to join up with another more powerful dothraki group. All that is left are the elderly, children, and Dany's bodyguards.

I definitely would with her. End of season 1 was nice. I hope they become a bit more involved in the
storyline, maybe this new city will help. So many characters to keep tabs on for someone who hasn't
read the books and the names don't make it much easier.

watching the show = great
reading the books = great
reading the book while at the same time reading the show = slightly confusing.

I'm about halfway through CofK and its weird because season one pretty much followed the book in order, but this season is all over the place. One chapter might have been shown in episode two and then I get to the next chapter and its something from ep 4 and then the next chapter is something from ep3 or something that hasn't even happened yet.

The good news is I saved all the eps on the dvr so I'm gonna rewatch them once I finish the book. At the very least I should be ahead of the tv show by sunday, or at least I hope so. I'm at the chapter where Dany just got to Qoarth and Arya just got to Harrenhall.

Arya is my favorite, but only cause I hope beyond all hopes she is eventually saved and reunited by Nymeria. When they said that there was a direwolf sighting by the God's eye and Arya is near the God's eye I figured that has to be a setup for a reunion.

Don't tell me either way, looking forward to the surprise.

What's interesting is that one of the primary ways this show cuts budget is with horses. Through 4 episodes, I think they've had two scenes with horses, one with Dany's horse dying (which doesn't happen, I don't think) and Stannis riding into Harrenhall. The more I watch the more I notice little things like that and it weirds me out.

HBO did well with the birth of the shadow abomination. A very creepy vibe to the whole scene that mirrored what I imagined from the books with Davos recoiling in terrror.

The Joffrey S&M part was a bit much. Hasn't it already been established to the nth degree that he is a sick fuck? They put a long scene like that in that could have been used to tell another character's back story a bit more. I enjoy the gratuitous naked whores but so much gets left out of the books I feel it was a wasted five minutes.
