I wouldn't go that far, but she would definitely be in the same category as some of the other contestants (man and woman) who have run the table and basically been in charge from day 1.

But, you also have to take into account the competition and also the luck factor. Kim is facing terrible competition with Colton and Troy being the only two other people out there who appear to know how to play the game. And she is very lucky to in that she managed to end up on the right tribe when they switched up the men and women. End up on the other tribe and things could work out completely differently.
Eh I don't really like docking points based on competition because I don't really know what constitutes a "strategically strong" cast. This argument could be used against basically any strong winner in the show's history.

Quote:
Before I declare her one of the all time greats I need to see more from her. I need to see her win some key immunities and I need to see her make some TOUGH strategic decisions that work out in her favor. As of now, she hasn't had to make ANY tough decisions so I refuse to give her credit as a great strategist yet.
I don't really like either of these criteria as well. Immunity should at best be a marginal factor in evaluating a player's overall skill at Survivor, and positioning yourself so well that you never have to win one or make a tough decision is often more impressive than relying on either of the two.

Quote:
Also, regarding the best ever, if you are going to base that on kim winning, then how can you ignore Sandra, didn't she win this game twice or am I mistaken about that? So many seasons, hard to keep track.

It wouldn't just be the fact that she'd have won but the manner in which she would have done so. We've never really had a female figure so singularly dominant before. Obviously there's lots of time left this season and I certainly wouldn't put her above Cirie at this point, but she's impressed me somewhat more than Parvati ever did so far.

Up there for most overrated player ever in my opinion. Did nothing of any note on her first and most relevant season. Was willing to walk into an F3 she had absolutely no chance of winning in Fans vs. Favorites and only won thanks to the latest "twist" in the show's history. Lost Heroes vs. Villains when she failed to control her primary goat and failed to realize his goatishness was being transferred onto her by association.

They should never do a mens tribe vs a womens tribe ever again. It just leads to this kind of stuff because the women always seem to stick together and normally there is one dumb guy who doesn't realize this even though it happens all the time. I know there are some strategic players that are women on this show, but it seems like most of them are happy just to be along for the ride like Cat and Christina this year.

The only chance for this season to be saved is if they realize that the two girls are running this game and get at least one of them out. Otherwise, shakes is probably right.

I dunno about that. There's really only been two men vs. women seasons before this. Amazon really didn't play out along gender lines, and in Vanuatu, the women did blow up and Chris won in pretty much the most hilarious manner possible. I guess you could count Exile Island too, but they quickly shuffled/merged there and it also didn't play out that way.

It seemed like they realized that men vs. women was a bad idea and that's why they switched up tribes early on.

Kim's claim for best ever took a serious hit tonight with her idiotic decision to take Chelsea and Alicia on the reward challenge. Anyone who has half a brain should've recognized that obvious and often used Survivor trap a mile away, yet she traipsed right into it.

In my world, someone in the best player ever category would've had no trouble figuring out that the correct duo to take was Cat and Christina and would've had a convo about that very scenario with her core alliance members before the challenge even happened.

I wonder how many people who won the "go away to a picnic / spa" reward challenge went on to win the game. I bet its not many.

Yeah that was a big mistake. Shocked that people still don't work this stuff out before challenges.

yea, every season its the same thing and yet people always make a dumb decision there.

I think Kim and her alliance also made complete fools of themselves during the challenge itself. Not one person took a whack at Kim's doll...if I was in Kim's shoes I would not be happy about that since it basically announces to the world that she is the top dog on the island. Even worse was how Kim and her alliance mates kept answering Christina for questions that portrayed Christina in a negative light. If a person is on the bottom rung of your alliance the LAST thing you should be doing is making her feel bad and singling her out for negative traits. So stupid.

Well, that was hilarious. Bout time the producers started taking advantage of the one thing this show has going for it, an abundant supply of retards.

Just watched this at lunch and what a crummy cast this turned into. The Kat chick
whining and crying in her interview after the episode had me laughing. She wanted
to beg Probst for another shot on a future season. Grow up. Why do I keep watching?
Probably because it is like a car wreck. Only a few more weeks left, I have stuck it out
this long.

As much of a complete idiot as Cat was, I'm sure gonna miss seeing that perfect ass in that green bikini.

yeah, the cousin love was a little over the top and weird, but I think they are just mutually retarded as opposed to nailing each other. It seemed like they shared the same half a brain.

As for the ass, to each his own cause imo she has as good an ass as I've ever seen on tv. But, I like skinny girls and some people prefer more cushion for the pushin, you know what I mean. (Spinal Tap reference)

At least Sabrina did not win.

Glad this season is over.

If they have many more like this one it will be time to pull the plug on this show.

The problem is there is nothing new that you can do at this point short of giving some people from third world Muslim countries like India and China a chance.

The least they can do is get better at casting. This season was ridiculous. Colton was a great personality. Tarzan and Troyzan had fireworks potential. Jonas had a brain so I can't fault them for putting him in the show. But, the rest of the guys were terrible. No excuse for putting that midget on. If you can't figure out after 5 minutes of talking to him that he has the personality of cardboard then you shouldn't b working in casting. If you can't realize that male model was too stupid to play the game then you shouldn't be in casting.

Why was Christina there? Why was Chelsea there? Are you telling me there aren't any hot chicks out there that aren't retarded?

Its like they're not even trying anymore.

Overall, if this season wasn't the worst ever it was definitely in the conversation.

And I can't really judge how good a player Kim is because her competition is the worst I've ever seen.

The funniest part was watching the opening statements when Chelsea stood up and basically acted like the jury was going to declare herself and Kim joint winners and they each get $1,000,000. It was pathetic. I turned to my gf and said I guarantee when KIm talks she won't even mention Chelsea's name one time. SUre enough, she didn't. I liked when she said to the jury "when I sent you home", not when WE sent you home. Chelsea was too stupid to recognize the slight.

It's believed that second and third place get 85k-100k with the winner obviously getting 1 million. That's why you have players who are willing to settle for second place(especially if it means a better chance to play again, appearance fees, or possible fame like becoming a host on the view or having a show where an "oil tycoon" flips houses). Many people, especially the girls, seem to want to use survivor to further their careers or become a mini-celebrity. I can't really blame them. If I'm getting 100k for losing in the final are you really taking a chance and being voted out 5th and going home with $20k(my guess)?

It probably was just a bad group of characters with only a few of them worth anything. This season was pretty boring. They can't all be great though. I hope they don't do men vs. women again especially since they just switch them up quickly as soon as one side starts to lose.

It also would help if they asked every potential contestant "How many seasons have you watched of Survivor?" and then asked them some specific questions that only real fans would know. It's getting old to see people who are there for a vacation. I'm not saying they need to be the greatest strategist in the world but if you ever think it's a good idea to give up immunity and a free pass for 3 more days you don't deserve to be there. Sadly, Colton supposedly had watched a lot of survivor and he did that but he's one of those guys that is only "smart" because he does whatever he can to make it seem like he is.

The part that really offended me last night was when Sabrina told the jury that she needed to win because she just got laid off. I wanted to fucking punch her in the face.

I was hoping someone would point out to her that the name on the door is SURVIVOR not WELFARE OFFICE.

Since they are bringing back 3 players that were airlifted out next season is that pretty much a guarantee that Colton is coming back?

I haven't finished watching the wrap up show so I missed that. They said for next season they are bringing back 3 players who previously had to leave the game for medical reasons? Hmm, so obviously Colton. Who else, my memory doesn't recall. Wasn't there some old fat guy who had to leave due to dehydration? I hope they don't bring him back, he'll be useless again. That girl who broker her wrist and had to leave first, was she airlifted out? I hope they don't bring her back, she had useless player written all over her.

And Colton is screwed anyway since he'll be going to the new season after everyone has already seen him play. Its not like when Russel went to allstars a month after filming his season and no one knew who he was or how he played and he was able to dominate again.

Who is Russell Swan? I assume Penner is Colton?

Mike Skupin is a great choice, but its been 10 years since he played, wonder what shape he's in. He's gotta be in his 50s now.

Russell Swan is the black guy who was taken out of the game in the season with Natalie and Russell Hantz. Penner is Jonathan from Cook Islands and Fans vs. Favorites.

Can you refresh my memory. I kinda remember the black guy, but I don't remember him being airlifted out? What happened to him?

And who is Jonathan Penner? Why was he airlifted?

Shocking that they wouldn't give Cotlon a shot.
