The Dolphins had no choice but to take Tannehill. They utterly screwed themselves with a piss-poor offseason and whiffed on every free agent quarterback available, even Alex Smith. They couldn't NOT take Tannehill, and while it may not have been the best value at 8, he's arguably got enough upside to justify it during his career.

They very easily could have NOT taken Tannehill. Move down...He was still going to be there until Cleveland picked Weeden.

So you're saying the Chiefs or Cardinals wouldn't have taken him? The Browns still had some leverage to move up to get him too. The Browns could've waited for Richardson too, but they didn't take a gamble on it and did the right thing in moving up. Dolphins similarly couldn't take the chance on trying to swerve down the ladder and throw caution to the wind that he'd fall to their lower pick. If you've got your guy, you've got your guy. Stay true to the board.

I just question whether he is their guy or he was the next best guy available and they made the pick out of fear.

He was their guy because of fear, basically.

And no I don't religiously watch college football, but I follow it and would like to think I'm not football retarded. What's your point?

Dolphins fans are not happy.

So, Kevin Kolb is out in AZ? I still think they go Floyd with that pick.
The Chiefs still have Cassell and Kyle Orton. They'll go QB in later rounds...

My point is that you talk about a lot of these players like you've never seen them play before. Lots of guru-speak.

Orton is signed with the Cowboys and it sounds like Skelton, not Kolb, will enter camp as the starter in AZ.

Guilty, but who isn't? I've done about 30 mock drafts over the last couple months and that involves reading pages of guru-babble and watching youtube clips. *shrug* If it's annoying I'll do my best to cut it out but how else can some of this stuff be described?

fine...the Chiefs still go with Cassell this season.
Kolb is still a better backup than Tannehill.

I didn't make the statement...despite you having referred to me as retarded.

Does this mean that you made your own picks for who would be picked about 30 times?

No no, wasn't referring to you as retarded at all. I was responding to Irish Boy, sorry about that, I should've quoted his question.

If I'm to understand the question correctly, basically...yes? I went through different trade scenarios and stuff. My final mock of the first round was fairly accurate this year, in my defense, especially considering the clusterfuck of trades.

Did you give yourself time between picks?

lol, no. However, I did simulate calling Baltimore to propose a trade, then backing out of it and pretending it never happened.

I called myself retarded! And that's probably not far from the truth! I didn't call anyone else retarded. At least I don't think.

I love Barren. I was hoping he fell far enough for the Bears to get him. I saw some mock drafts that had him dropping to Dallas at 14.

Most love him. I've heard repeatedly he's the safest pick in the draft. I just wouldn't ever draft a safety that high.
