I vote B. If they do address it, I suspect JORR's right and Bernstein will turn the discussion away from Cowley and toward the Twitter strawman.

In re Deadspin: Daulerio's a righteous sleaze, but somebody has to watch the watchmen.

I agree. They prolly just don't talk aboot it.

This is completely off-topic, but it's weird what the "edit post" feature can do. I mean, I stand by the above quote. But because I edited my post, said quote no longer exists. With apologies to Elmhurst Steve, editing posts is the weirdest part of message-board ontology.

Terry's Peeps, you're really taking umbrage at the way that I consolidated Jason's three tweets into a single sentence without really changing anything that he said!

For the record, I don't think Jason did anything wrong, or anything any of us wouldn't have done, at least by the "standards" of first-at-all-costs twitter reporting. That virtually anyone's story-breaking can be distilled to a strand of heavily mitigated dithering is an indictment of the system, not the person.

Mac made an off-handed comment this a.m. about deleting your Twitter account. Did not mention any names.

This speaks to the rapidly changing paradigms in the world of "journalism". That type of reportage would be deemed unaccepatble in traditional media. But it's semingly okay within the rapidfire world of social media. I think the issue comes in when people have one foot in both worlds. And that speaks to the Cowley thing too. Cowley would never consider putting much of the stuff he writes on Twitter into his Sun-Times column. But he's comfortable putting it out there on Twitter as if he's playing a different role. In a world where people are hired and fired based on Facebook pictures and posts it isn't difficult to understand that that isn't really the case.

Leitch wasn't much better. The way Scott Simon turned him into a puddle of goo over saying Tony Dungy wasn't really black was something else.

Guy sounded like Porky Pig.

Add a few "uhs" and "ehs" and a "for the love of God" in there and it could have been Terry answering the question.

It wasn't an opinion. It was a cheap joke made by a hipster-racist carnival barker masquerading as a journalist.

Race treason is a drastic and hurtful allegation for a fellow black person to levy. From a little shit like Will Leitch, though, what the fuck.
