This is very simple....as long as he didn't fuck up his meniscus he will be able to return at the same level. You can replace the acl and the MCL will completely heal itself but if you shred the meniscus you will always have issues. They should also seriously consider getting a cadaver ligament, actually I think they like to cut up an achilles for this, as it will keep his patella intact and it will decrease the recovery time.

While we're looking for sini we can go on a body harvest hunt. Who's got a scalpel?

It gets to a point with certain people like Dan, that everything they do and say and even the way they say it drives you nuts. I am at that point with Rozner's columns. I find myself hating his every thought just because it is his.

I guess the same thing happens with marriage. Things that used to be cute and funny, just become more annoying over time.

Jon Miller on Sunday Night Baseball was the same way.

I noticed KC Johnson, in his appearance today, is the only person I've heard pronounce "Aşık" correctly.

"AH-shuk" (not ah-SHEEK).

And Ömer is pronounced "ER-mare." Though I don't expect anyone to pronounce that one that way because it just sounds goofy.

Doesn't Danny always jump on callers who try to analogize their high school football/baseball/basketball/hockey playing days to professional athletes? Isn't that what he did for five hours with his fucking knee injury?

That's really disappointing. For all his bluster, Dan really is a coward in a lot of ways.

He may have the best sense of professional self-preservation that an inflammatory talk radio host has ever had. He's too smart ever to set himself on fire like Imus or Stern or anyone whoever worked at 1000 in its prime. It's good for him and his family, not necessarily always good for us. And that's fine, really; radio's not exactly on the rise here, but how circling the wagons on the guy who stopped seconds short of telling his co-worker, "hurry up, it's not gonna suck itself" is indeed the exemplary self-preservation that it is is positively baffling. You can only go after your own when he's David Schuster, I guess.

Like I had said a while ago, it's commonplace to be on a first-name basis with elite or hometown NBA players. However, the greater Derrick Rose narrative as recently codified in Leitch's GQ piece, wherein Derrick Rose is Chicago's very own pwecious widdle Pooh who has to be sheltered from the Big Scary World Out There so he can continue to entertain us by putting a ball in a ring, is starting to strike me as icky and paternalistic and just a little bit perverse. Sure, maybe this held water in his rookie year when he didn't know what food was and actually had to be taught how to slice an apple without committing Japanese ritual suicide, but it can't go on anymore. He's not this idiot-savant foster child of Bulls fandom and Chicago at large anymore. It's been four years. He's 23. Let's not drag this playground manchild thing out anymore.

True story. Only person that poked at him on this was k.c. Johnson of all people.

At the risk of taking this far off topic, I wonder about the pronunciation of PGA golfer Padraig Harrington. In Ireland his given name would commonly be pronounced "Poor-Egg". I've never heard even the foreign announcers say it that way though. :?

That comes close to what I was thinking. The duo's treatment of Devin Hester is striking in comparison.

Conversely, Patrick Kane does need Chicago to rise up as one and protect him from himself so that he can continue to entertain us by putting a disc in a net. He's white and middle-class, though, and as such expected to keep his nose clean himself IF YOU PICK UP WHAT I AM PUTTING DOWN

Yeah. I can swallow him pimping Hub's latest bit of facile tripe--like you said, nature of the business--but this is different. Cowley is (undeniably) a lazy, shamelessly unethical journalist and (from all available evidence) a truly repellent human being. Dan has made a nice career out of denying mercy and quarter to the city's meatballs and their prejudices. Despite the fact that Cowley has outed himself as a particularly unclever misogynist, I get that there are certain professional and personal relationships in play here that might make a full-bore "hang up on yourself and stick your face in a deep-fat fryer" critique awkward; ok, fine, then just ignore it. But no, Dan can't do that--then he'd be complicit in denying that irrepressible rascal the fun of taking his "bit" on the road! Just Cowley being Cowley, dudes! No one who speaks Ozzie could be an evil man!

I wouldn't call B&b a bastion of respect for women. You're talking about a guy who has his wife under orders regarding how much she is allowed to weigh.

JORR is 100% correct, if that's who you are referencing. Bernstein said it in transition a while back.

You can't seriously believe that that's true.

I grew up with a ton of Jewish guys and I have a lot of Jewish friends and not one of them tells his wife what to do, I'll grant you that. It's probably just bernstein talking tough, the marital equivalent of him lashing a 95 mph fastball.
