Stupid thing only toasts one side of my bread every five or so times I use it. Do you know how bad toast is if it only is toasted on one side?

I've never once had an issue with this...maybe you're buying bad peanut butter?

I don't eat peanut butter often, but back at home the jar was kept in the fridge. But even if it wasn't, sometimes it would flatten the bread, other times it would rip a hole. Still, it's hard to go wrong with PB&J, so it's not like it was inedible.

I really miss those PB&J bars that would come with a boxed lunch at school or day camp. Fond memories. Right up there with Koala Yummies and Dunkaroos in the food pyramid of my childhood.

More than likely bad bread. A nice robust 7-12 grain bread will hold up to the toughest of peanut butters.
