Another lousy contract courtesy of Hendry. RFDC, this isn't helping me in my struggle.

Right now,I'm not impressed with the current Cubs manager. All I have read is him saying over a course of a season, the stats will come around for "fill in the blank". He is a little to lax for me. There is no urgency to WIN. I know this team sucks BUT don't give games away.

3 blown saves in 5 chances. More saves blown that games saved. Most walks on the team when he's only pitched 8.2 innings. There are no stats to even suggest he's been somewhat kind of okay.

Bruce Levine making excuses for Marmol on ESPN radio.
"he pitched on back to back days blah blah blah"
He also said that Kerry Wood was available.  Yeah, that's the ticket...

Seriously Bruce, time to hang 'em up.

After the change in ownership, It's nice to know Professor Flakey still has a gig shilling for the Cub

The argument I heard in defense of Marmol prior to today was that he only had 8(?) chances to close and wasn't getting the work he needed to be consistent. I would hope the next words out of his mouth are not similar to this excuse. If they are, I am gonna agree with you.

Beni,
Compare his remarks to the new Sox skipper. He basically just called out his 2nd and 3rd BM to start hitting or be removed from the line-up.

Sveum said they are the only options. Not considering Kerry Wood.

Paul Sullivan ‏ @PWSullivan 3:19pm
Sveum considers Russell, Dolis as new closer.

Maybe move Shaun Camp into the saver role. He has good control and might get the job done on a consistent basis. At least TRY something else. This Sveum isn't winning any popularity contests with a lot of his decisions.

So much for a new regime getting Marmol's mechanics figured out. And thanks to Hendry, they owe him 9.8M next year plus the balance of the 7M this year.

A 6.23 ERA is bad, but a 2.31 WHIP is effing crazy.

At least Svuem tells it like it is (not that he has a choice) and demotes Marmol.

Marmol fucking blows, and his trade return value has hit an all-time low.

Yep, he is now worthless. I advocated trading his sorry ass last year.

A closer who has absolutely no confidence in his fastball. Brilliant.

Big deep breath. Look to the future, Marmol isn't part of the future!

Because Kenny has no big and dumb contracts on the south side.

No, that's not it, but thanks for further proving Cub fans are more insecure than Sox fans.

It's because Marmol sucks and looks to be relegated to nothing more than mop up relief.

Yes,I AM more insecure. No World Series ring since 1908 does that to a guy. I can't argue that.

His dead ass needs to be put on the DL and sent to Arizona to figure it the fuck out in extended spring training for the next month before the AZL begins.

If Marmol could have shown something positive, maybe the Yankees would have been desperate enough to take him off our hands due to Rivera going down for the year. Who knows, maybe Rothschild thinks he can rehabilitate him.
