I give it as many stars as possible. Just a fun movie done very well. Hulk did steal the show, an he has signed a long term deal with Marvel. Have to think he gets his own movie after this reception, and maybe a part in Iron Man 3.

Hulk punching Thor was hilarious.

I'm not sure how they pull off individual movies for any of them now, without at least partially including the others.

So if Iron Man gets into a trouble against some villain, the others wouldn't come and give him a hand?

Well, they sort of addressed that with the "they are all heading in different directions, not really watching them, etc" at the end. Thor's is easiest.

But all in all, yes, great point. Will take a lot of thought to work that out.

I actually thought Paltrow looked pretty good. Nice 'n' leggy. But yes, Smulders was the best.

I absolutely LOVED this movie. LOVED. IT. A great mix of humor & action. That last bit after all the credits was a nice touch. Ruffalo was excellent as the Hulk/Dr. Banner. His scene w/ Lodi towards the end was priceless.

The only thing I don't get is, if there's all this commotion happening in NYC, why didn't the X-Men, Spiderman or the Fantastic 4 come & help?

Spidey is owned by Sony. I think X-Men might be as well. Not sure if the FF are owned by Marvel or not. Also, not uncommon for X-Men and FF to be out of town doing something else. Spidey, not so much, he usually is in town.

Well, the true answer is that Disney doesn't own the rights to their movies, so because of that no real sense in addressing it in the movie. But yea, still annoying.

I was a little off. Spidey is owned by Columbia Pictures, X-men is owned by 20th Century Fox which also owns the FF.

You think Marvel would like to go back in time and not sell the rights to those first two?

The last question was kind of hypothetical. I know why there aren't movies made w/ all the characters (even thought that would be EPIC), but even in the comics where they can freely do so they don't.

Spidey is a member of the Avengers now in the comics, but I think for a long time he felt like he wasn't good/important enough to handle the problems the Avengers were tasked to take care of. There were times in the comics where he would seek out the Avengers or FF when he felt like he was in over his head. I think the turning point for his character was in Secret Wars when he went to another planet with several other heroes and saved the universe (and in the process picked up his black costume/Venom). After that he started to have a lot more confidence as a superhero.

Peter Parker is always doubting himself. There was even a stroyline for it in the Ultimates universe ,EMO mutherfucker.

That would be my dream Marvel movie. If only all the studios could work along w/ each other...

I think everything happens for a reason. To wit: if Spidey rights wasn't sold to Columbia and X-Men to 20th Century Fox, then why would Disney have bought them? (Adding in the FF,) Marvel's history with selling movie options had been pretty lousy up till then. Selling rights to different studios is good risk mitigation: studios go belly-up. And indeed, Disney took a pounding on John Carter...

I'm not sure how the Avengers will go down. The Ultimates line was specifically designed to be movie-adaptable, but how many people with fond memories of the Avengers think of the mid-70s or 80s versions? And wonder where the Beast is?

I do. I had forgotten the Beast was an Avenger though. I liked him back in that era prior to Giant Size X-Men #1 when he looked like a regular guy and wasn't all furry like an animal. He's more tragic with fur.

I'm also a fan of the 80's 90's version of the Avengers. I'm interested in who they'll bring on in the next one.

Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver (can't mention their parentage, though), Tigra, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Vision?

Maybe there could be a future spin-off of the West Coast Avengers.

West Coast Avengers was a great group.

Can not have Vision without Dr Pymn. So they need to introduce him first.
Talk about a dysfunctional group,Alpha Flight is the poster child.
There are soo many cool characters that at on time or the other where on the team.
I do not know if someone on here said it about the Vision,if you want to include him but not use Dr Pymn you can have Stark build him and Use a certian agent as the blueprint.

I just hope the movie version of Vision doesn't inspire a bad mult, too.

I'll be the one to say it, Scarlett Johanson was very disappointing...chest looked small, ass looked big and her face is "evolving" on a surgeon's table.

Interesting. I'm not a big fan of her looks overall (on the celeb scale, of course), but found her attractive in this. Nothing special, but just attractive.

Yeah, but now they think he should look more catlike, aka, Beauty and the Beast, and he wears granny glasses and a lab smock.

(I got that Amazing Adventures, somewhere... they turned the Beast into a furball around '71-'72, back when they were doing horror comics.)

What? And forego continuity that he's the 40's Human Torch?

I've always thought she was overrated in the face but I was sold by those leaked self photos. Apparently it was just a snapshot in time of her looking her best

i'm glad i did. thoroughly entertaining movie. this is really joss whedon's wheelhouse. i forgive him for "cabin" after seeing this. just a refreshingly fun movie. good time all around. it has the whedonisms (characters you like getting bumped off, girl power, and snappy comebacks) but in this medium, it works and is funny.

i don't at all agree with that review i was referring to in this post. i found it just stuffed enough.
