This is a link to Dan Bernstein's latest column on 670 The SCORE's page on CBSChicago.com, and depending on the length of White Sox/Indians' Game 1 today in Cleveland, you can bet Dan & Terry will be absolutely, positively angry that the Bulls have suddenly become bad at basketball. They've tried to downplay this lockout-shortened regular season and now these Bulls are 48 minutes away from a premature end to their season vs. a 76ers' team that wasn't even a lock for the NBA Playoffs 2 weeks ago. You can bet the guys can't wait to give these Bulls quite a verbal beatdown for losing their last 3 games of this series and are now 48 minutes away from joining the 1994 Sonics, 1999 Heat, 2007 Mavericks & last year's Spurs among the #1 seeds ousted in the first round.

Late in the show Friday at Nick's Uptown, neither Boers nor Bernstein seemed to understand why the Sox decided to send Chris Sale to the bullpen as the team's new closer instead of Addison Reed or Hector Santiago prior to the weekend series in Detroit. I'm sure the guys will also try to make sense of the White Sox decision if time permits. Also, the Cubs start a series with the Braves at Wrigley after taking 2 out of 3 with the Dodgers over the weekend with a rain-delayed, 11 inning walk-off win yesterday.

All this, plus more NBA Playoffs and who knows what else after Game 1 of White Sox/Indians this afternoon. Start time? Don't know...

Bernsie has been proven right (as he usually is)...the regular season does not matter.

Um, no SHARK...

If you'd been listening you'd know that when Derrick Rose went down, they pretty much stated that the season was over. Their play of late has not been shocking.

They both thought they were going to get past Philly. Neither of them predicted this bad of play.

It's still not surprising to the point where there will be outrage, as SHARK implied.

With Noah injured as well, I don't know how anyone could have expected that they'd win.

That's true...Especially now.

Just to prove how disinterested I've become in this series, I was more interested in "NASCAR on FOX" coverage of the Aaron's 499 at Talladega, AL than Game 4 of Bulls/Sixers once Joakim Noah went down in Game 3. Just like Talladega, this Bulls' season has crashed.

The way this White Sox/Indians' first game is going, Terry & Dan B. might not have a lot of time to work with...

All this has proven is that injuries matter more. You can't lose two of your key players and have another key player hobbled at any point in the season and expect to win.

If the Bulls had just swept the Sixers with a healthy team would Bernstein have been proven wrong?

Why do I think if the Bulls lead this first round series, Bernsy still wouldn't be convinced?

Not until the Heat pounded them.

Bernsy wasn't convinced, even with a healthy Derrick Martell Rose, the Bulls could beat the Heat in a meaningful series.

The Heat pounding them wouldn't have proved him right either. It just would have meant the playoffs didn't matter too.

If his point is the NBA in Chicago doesn't matter then he'd ultimately be right.

Hey, meatball, it's not about DA ATMASPHEER in the NBA. Do you need white people yelling and screaming in the crowd to enjoy NBA damn basketball?

Shouldn't he be praising their fans for being smart enough to realize that they have zero shot to win the championship, and thus saving their money?

As things stand right now, Terry & Dan B. will likely have 90 minutes to flap their gums in advance of Ranger's White Sox Radio Network pre for Game 2 of the day-night DH with the Indians in Cleveland.

So let's review here.

Bernstein said the regular season doesn't matter, and seemingly decided to take no joy in any win.
The playoffs are looking to be a massive bust, with one bad thing coming after another.
He doesn't seem to care about olympic basketball.
Next year, we run into the same issue with the NBA regular season not mattering.

So, he's going to go almost two full years without meaningful NBA basketball, and next year the Bulls will still probably lose to the Heat.

Why not just give up on the whole thing?

I think it'll be after 4p. I don't think Ranger has a great deal of time to work with right now. Jason Goff is supposed to be on after Ranger wraps up the postgame for Game 2 of the twinbill in Cleveland around 9:30p-ish or so, but stay tuned.

Thanks but no thanks. How can we trust your info anymore, Shark? I'm just going to consult the website or call into the station to check.

I'm listening right now to Ranger...When it comes to pre & postgame coverage, he's not Steve Kashul up the dial. When Bulls' games end, he only has 30 minutes of postgame to work with. Besides, the Bulls produce their broadcasts themselves, while The SCORE produces the White Sox Radio Network broadcasts. There's a noticeable difference between the 2 broadcasts.

Ranger has just wrapped up the postgame for Game 1 on the White Sox Radio Network, Matt Rodewald is doing the first of just 3 "Scoreboard Updates" between now & 5:30p. Terry & Dan B. are just seconds away from starting their afternoon show on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com.

With very little to work with between now & 5:30p, Matt "On CTA Buses & 'L' Trains Everywhere" Rodewald is on "Scoreboard Update" duty while Jason "After the Sox tonight...JERK!" Goff & Brendan "Baldy McGrindy/The Suit" McGrindy are producing this abbreviated "B & B Show".

Back to the Bulls bitching currently going on with those three .... I guess I missed something where, when the 76ers win this series, how exactly does that not mean they're the better team? I mean, all kinds of smoke and mirrors can be positioned dancing around the fact that they're obviously, at this moment, NOT better, but to what end? If regular season games don't mean shit, then what the fuck is they're bitch sessions netting anybody? Talk about pointless / worthless ... not discussing the Bulls' future, that's all well and good, but this pointless (in the truest sense of the word) shit they're doing now .... bah .... it's so retarded I can't keep my train of thought, but I have a feeling it isn't worth keeping anyway .... no, now I remember .... what prize is handed out for being the best team? I mean, talk about meaningless moral victory .... hey we lost, got our nuts kicked up to our necks, but we're the better team, so hurrah for us!

How does the Bulls beating the Sixers get them closer to a championship? It's very common to hear how winning a series in the NBA playoffs doesn't mean you are closer to a title. They really shouldn't care if the Bulls lose every game. They should have quit after Rose went out.
