Based on performance, sure. But nobody - players, management, fans - wanted Zambrano back. It didn't make a lot of financial sense to keep a multi-million dollar setup man in the bullpen. So they moved Marshall, Cincinnati picked up the tab, and maybe Wood or Torreyes will pan out.

Based on my logic, you could easily argue the Wood signing. I would agree with that argument. That was a move made to appease the masses from Iowa and downstate. And probably Tom Ricketts.
