First of all, I had no idea what that individual’s sexual orientation might be. Going back to the 1960′s, that wasn’t something we all discussed or considered. So that’s simply just not accurate. I don’t recall the incident myself but I’ve seen the reports and not going argue with that. There’s no question that I did some stupid things in high school and, obviously, if I hurt anyone by virtue of that I would be very sorry for it and apologize for it.

"I don't remember actually doing any of this, but I definitely didn't do what I don't remember doing because he was gay. Also, I apologize for doing what I don't remember doing. I don't remember doing it, but I will just go ahead and apologize for doing it, because some people said I did it, and that's all the proof I need to believe that I actually did it."

Can anyone name some other things that Romney did, but doesn't remember, so he should apologize for it?

In fairness, he could remember the individual and not the incident. If he didn't know he way gay, it would have been tough to attack him because he thought he was gay.

He is a terrible candidate though. It's amazing that the party had 4 years to come up with their own Obama and failed so miserably. Is it that hard to find a young person with charisma? Political record wouldn't even matter.

over 40 years ago and you really want him to apologize for beating a guy up?

Bet Teddy Roosevelt kicked some ass in his day!

The personal histories and personalities of Presidents from LBJ to Tricky Dick Nixon to George W Bush is not Lives of the Saints material.

As bad a candidate as Romney might be, he's currently thumping the incumbent in the polls:

It's the economy. If it continues in its current state/doesn't get much better/or gets worse, it could be revealed that Romney sodomizes puppies before cooking and eating them and he'll still win.

Am I missing something, that link says Obama is in the lead. Is this one of those "it says he is in the lead but he's not really in the lead" things?

I thought Romney said he doesn't apologize. His autobiography is even called, No Apologies.

Another flip flop...

Maybe the good candidates/prospects see this election as a punt.

Theyre pulling an Elway/Eli

they need a putin. someone who can pretend to be a superhero, have all the right people on their side to obfuscate the opposition, dominate a campaign and not give a shit about what critics say.
