According to what the Trib's K.C. Johnson told Mac & Spiegs this afternoon, Korver & Brewer are as good as gone.

I don't think he dislikes the Sox. But I truly believe if one of the two could win a World Series he'd want it to be the Cubs.

Also, everything about going to a Sox game is easier, The tickets are right in his office. He can park right in front. And I'm sure his wife and daughter prefer the restrooms.

Wrigley has family restrooms that are pretty nice.

Who do you think he would have wanted to win the World Series before 2005, though?

In that same interview, K.C. feels Omer Asik & Brian Scalabrine will be back on board. This despite Mac's complaint that Scalabrine is nothing more than a glorified coach, a la Jack Haley back in the day.

It is insane that Rose makes about as much as Carlos Boozer and not that much more than Deng. I know where he cleans up is sponsorship money for shoes and ACT prep classes and whatnot, but still, I wonder how much the top 10 or so players lose out on each year.

I know the last 2 years he played for the Bulls, Michael Jordan signed back-to-back 1 year contracts for about $30 million each year before he retired the second time in 1998. Not to compare the two, but there were complaints that Jordan then & Derrick Rose now were underpaid.

I don't know. I think maybe the Sox are his first baseball team so probably the Sox. But that isn't what I call a Sox fan. "The Sox got theirs, now let the Cubs win one." I'm pretty sure North and Mac have actually expressed such an idea on the air. bernstein is slightly more subtle about it.

When Rizzo and Jackson get here and the Cubs are on their threepeat in 2018, I don't expect you to say, Oh, I hope the Sox can get one now!" You're a Cubs fan. That's cool. It doesn't mean you hate the Sox necessarily, but you aren't pulling for them against the Cubs. I think if the Sox had a terrible team and the Cubs were contending, bernstein would pull for the Cubs in the Crosstown because, well, they can actually win a championship. That isn't what I call a Sox fan. Frank Coztansa isn't pulling for a Cub World Series. Good bless him. Abbatacola is never rooting for the Sox. God bless him too.

You've talked about the open market for players(ie no draft, salary cap and total free agency). It wouldn't shock me if under those rules in basketball that players like Rose and Lebron would be worth $40+ million a year.

In the NBA there is only The top 10 players and 300 Bums

BUT, if you are a starter and one of the best 3 players on the team, you get the most possible money.

Boilermaker Rick has said some similiar stuff. Not sure if he went as far to say he'd rather the Cubs win than the Sox though.

So the Derrick Rose Rule is kind of screwing the Bulls. I don't know if the additional 5% he earned can be applied against the salary cap, but without the "rule", Rose could only make $14.5million. He is going to make $15.5million. Thusly cutting into $1million of available monies to provide another player.

Kinda sucks if this is accurate. Also, I haven't seen what the cap is expected to be next year.

I will always want the White Sox to win the World Series. However, my second choice would be the Cubs. The Cubs winning the World Series would be more interesting than the White Sox winning yet another one too.

A group of psychotic terrorists seizing the Daley Center would be more interesting than my normal day, but I'm not rooting for it to happen.

Boers & bernstein are the Ambiguously Cub-Loving Duo.

Given how long the Cubs have waited to win one, winning two within about 10 years seems a little selfish.

It would be WSOX that would go after Don Cooper but mess up the stream so no one can here unless they use that technology from the 1950s.

I partially agree, but he shouldn't have been allowed to say anything. Cooper's bullying tactics are laughable. He also breaks two of my conversation rules with almost everything he says. Anyone that starts a thought with "listen" or "all's I know is" gets my internal mute button instantly.
