Gonna drop the comment about Blues Brothers here. Wasn't living in Chicagoland when it came out. Didn't know squat about any of the singer/musicians other than Ray Charles and Aretha. Great movie to see and here and begin looking up who some of these guys were and their musical careers. Nice point Spiegs brought up mentioning the movie gave many of them a second career.

I was 10 years old when the Blues Brothers came out. I'll never forget watching it at the drive in (remember those?) with the folks. I remember being quite impressed that Duck Dunn could play the bass while smoking a pipe. :D

I wasn't allowed to see it in the theater

I laugh every time I pass the remnants of Dixie Square Mall. (That mall had EVERYTHING :lol:)

The scene in Park Ridge is pretty much identical to what it looked like 30+ years ago. That's pretty indicative of the suburb.
