Their first album Furr (by cracky) is even better. Check that out. Sleepytime in the Western World is a great opening track.

The new Spiritualized album is much more interesting than recent efforts, but still nowhere near the early 90s stuff.

I am absolutely obsessed with the closing track " So long you pretty thing".
Listened to it at least 20 times in the last few days.
Song of the decade, and probably the song that will be on a loop at my funeral.

Yeah the part where that song shifts and the strings reprise the Hey Jane riff gets me every time.

80's weekend on XRT started at 9. Streaming it on my phone until B&B start.

Don't need to listen to meatbally outrage this early in the morning.

Any good? Haven't given it a listen yet. I wasn't too thrilled with the single, but I'm hoping the rest of the album is an improvement.

I actually really liked it the first time through. It reminds me of when he put out some of his better solo stuff before. When he was in the White Stripes.

The Love Interrupt/Corrupt/Disrupt single may be the worst song on the album. But the next single "Sixteen Saltines" is a blast from the past/simple guitar rock song. Lots of piano in a lot of the songs.

Journal Entries

Popped up on the iPod, so I decided to give the album a whirl.

The Gaslight Anthem have a new record coming out tuesday. I've been listening to the 1st single from it "45" and I like it. Its power driven acoustic springsteen punk and it rocks. Some of their more recent stuff had been a bit slower but this rocks like their older stuff.

I've given it a few listens now. Not bad, but it really reminds me of alot of the stuff he did on Get Behind Me Satan (which I hated for the most part). Sixteen Saltines is great though.

I think the cover of "I'm Shakin'" is good too.

I checked the youtube top 100 and Pitbull w/ Chris Brown is #1. I gave the song about 40 seconds before I realized my soul had died.
