Trout has elite speed, is the better defensive player and has a slightly better hit tool. Harper has the better arm and off the charts power (though Trout is no punch and judy hitter). It's very close but gun to the head I'd take Harper. Power wins.

Was a SHOT to dead center. Got around the bases pretty quick. Gave the crowd the curtain call they demanded.

Take that Old school guy

Trout is hitting now too. Best two rookies since?

A year apart...I want to say Ventura was a rookie in 89...I could be wrong, though.

Harper was 3-for-4 with his seventh home run, a solo shot in the third inning, Tuesday night.

That's five multiple-hit games in his last nine starts, and he now has his average up to .307 to go with seven long ones on the year. He still makes the occasional 19-year-old mistake, but his talent level is off the charts. There is little question he is in the major leagues to stay, and could be well on his way to stardom.

Unreal what this kid is doing in the majors at 19 years old. The only negative thing about him is that he has totally overshadowed Mike Trout who is having just a spectacular rookie year as well for the Halos.
Glad I picked up both of these guys for my fantasy team

Not that it matters when it comes to hitting a curveball 450 feet, but I had no idea he was Mormon.

First of many.

Unless he turns out like another rookie who just had to be on the team and was added on.

How's Dontrelle Willis doing these days?

Davey Johnson brought this on himself. I'm actually surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner. Good boy, Ozzie. Good boy.

Ok, just saw the replay on sportscenter. I've reconsidered my opinion:

Ozzie is a certifiable jackass.

Really? You're gonna call out a rookie on how much pine tar is on his bat? And then the "new" bat isn't any different at all?
And then make a big fuckin deal because he chooses to "point" the bat at your dugout during his warm-up routine while he is stepping into the box for his next AB?

Wow, Ozzie. Wow. You just got pwned by a 19 year old kid. Seriously.

Also:

At some point MLB has to step in and tell people to stop embarrassing the league with Harper, don't they? Enough already.

Mike Trout is better.

Right now Trout is better. We'll bump this in 5 years.

Janice Rossi is a whore!

100% agree. Ozzie is such a DB. It's even more evident while watching from afar. I'm guessing his antics won't last nearly as long in Miami.

You know what a "pro" does? Calls a report a "fucking f*g."

Quote:
Harper went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in the Nationals' 4-3 loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

Spin: With eight homers and 10 steals on the season, Harper has a legitimate chance of becoming a 20-20 player in his rookie season. The scary thing is that a 20-20 season might not even approach the ceiling for the immensely talented Harper.

Quote:
Trout went 3-for-5 and stole his 29th and 30th bases of the season Saturday against the Yankees.

Spin: Trout had 3 of the Angels' seven hits, and his double was the only extra base hit the team managed all game. He's now batting .348 and has a chance to win Rookie Of The Year, MVP, a batting title, a gold glove, and a stolen base crown. While it's probably a longshot, the fact that this is even a possibility says all that you need to know about Trout.

Mercy.

This didn't have anything to do with Bryce Harper. Ozzie gave that dickhead Davey Johnson a shot for his buddy Joe Maddon and good for him. I hope this isn't the last time someone fucks with a Nationals player. Johnson brought it on himself.

He's right. That was a crazy thing for Johnson to do, especially since he was essentially admitting to "cheating" last year
