Is there no hope?

Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.

Yes!

That show was great.

Loved this show. Graham Yost was a big part of it, and he's now one of the brains behind Justified. No coincidence about the casting of the villains this year, as both of those guys were Boomtown stars.

Even Donnie Wahlberg was good in this. Pretty sure it's on DVD. Well worth your time.

the whole show was annoying. sorkin was out of his element.

this is an easy topic. just about every internet message board has some kind of dedication to the "too good for TV" shows:

"firefly", "freaks & geeks", "undeclared", "arrested development", etc.

i would've liked to see another season of "the ben stiller show" and "mr. show", "sports night" (sorkin more in his element), "the mind of the married man", and "rome".

I forgot about Undeclared, that definitly deserves a spot. Don't agree on Arrested Development. The show started out great, but by its last season it had dropped off quite a bit.

I hope you're talking about the 1986 show with Jeffery Tambor. The Matthew Perry series was unwatchable. I tried.

Playmakers was awesome. The chick at the time I was dating said "This is just nothing but a soap opera for men"...my reply was "And?"....

The rumor was that the NFL told ESPN to can it because it was "too real".

Sports Night was just plain awful

What was the Fox offering about an airline executive? It was based out of Chicago too....one word from what I remember. It seemed to have potential.

Also the one of Fox that they promoted the hell out of because there was some Family Guy reference....the one with Rob Corddry....I think it was called "The Winner"

The Loop. It wasn't bad, and it starred one of my favorite character actors Phillip Baker Hall.

Also, the blonde chick from Friends had a pretty good one season series on HBO a few years back. Probably the closest thing to the original UK The Office (other than Larry Sanders, which pre-dates/inspired The Office) I've seen from an American show.

Reunion.

It was a recent show on Fox (methinks). It was a murder mystery where the show was a flashback and each episode was a year. So 20 episodes equals 20 years. They cancelled the show show 10 or 12 episodes in. THey couldn't let the show finish off their run to reveal the killer?

there's an english football equivalent of that show called "dream team" that aired years ago that made me think "so they can do this in england, but we can't get away with it here?" "dream team" was just as exposing.

The Critic for sure.
Duckman but it did last for a couple of seasons.

I don't get the Freaks and Geeks love. I didn't find any of the characters likeable.

This needed to be sacrificed in order for us to have the greatness that is It's Always Sunny.

That's My Bush is strangely absent from all these lists as well.

this goes back a ways but "the vacant lot". it suffered from being on at the same time as KITH and was compared to it unfavorably and never caught on.

but some of the sketches were before their time. and their songs were great. excellent opening theme too.

Again, until I am watching it while painted blue and reading the latest issue of Poof, I will not believe it.
