.....and Soto is still as bad at hitting as Kerry Wood is at throwing a strike.

So is this going to be one of those hot streaks where Soriano hits 8 or 10 HRs in a few weeks

Dammit Swaimer  Learn to manage this pitching staff already. Now you just burned Russell so Garza didn't have to face Juan Pierre. Thats leaves us with of course the god awful Kerry Wood in a tie ball game unless you let Russell hit for himself in the bottom of the 7th which is of course not happening. No reason to pull Garza then. Let him finish the inning and then pull him and save Russell.

He def. needs to learn how to manage a pitching staff for sure. As for Soto, they can trade him any time. And Wood is strictly mop up duty until he proves he can throw strikes again.

The ability of the relievers to throw strikes is sub par to say the least.

I liked the story as I used to read about him when he was at Waubansee Valley but he looks way overmatched. He wasn't always terrible with Boston though so who knows.....I would rather he be in a game that Kerry Wood or Marmol right now.

Wood is wild but he at least throws 95. Guys like Bowden are batting practive. Marmol has to develop mechanics and learn to trust his fastball or he is toast.

I'd like to see Beliveau and that stud Alberto Cabrera who's throwing 97 at AA up here.

They need to get Travis up to start and put Volstad in the pen. Volstad isn't always bad....he is just bad over the entire length of a start. If you move him to the pen he can maximize his good pitches and velocity and be much more effective. He doesn't have to worry about lasting 5 or 6 innings or seeing guys more than once.

Camp would clean up anything through the 7th, Volstad and or Russell in the 8th and Dolis to finish. Maine and Wood can mop up until they prove they can consistently throw strikes and Bowden......thanks for getting Byrd out of town.

RP Blake Parker promoted. Not on 40 man so someone is getting cut.

There were only 38 on the roster so he was just added without having to cut someone....not that I wasn't hoping they did cut some people.

Sent down Scot Maine

Cubs purchased the contract of RHP Blake Parker from Triple-A Iowa. The corresponding roster move isn't yet known. Parker, 26, had a 2.08 ERA and 9/5 K/BB ratio over his first 13 innings at the Triple-A level this season. Look for him in middle relief

Wonder if an outsider like Sveum will give us the "it's just 3 games on the schedule" speech.

But it is. These 3 games are less important than any NL game. They are an American League team that plays in Chicago. BIg fucking deal. I am over this stupid shit and have been for a while.

Yeah,I'm not. I root for the Sox to lose. I like putting them on when I know they are getting their asses kicked just to hear Hawk "not talk".

How are these less important than 3 vs. San Diego?
