Im not sure Bernstein has more power than McNeil.

Pretty sure Mac is still the franchise player

I think there is a hell of a lot more evidence in Mac's favor in terms of loyalty, within the numbers. There's no record for Berns.

For examply, I doubt that B&B listeners dropped when Mac was no longer at ESPN...

This is the best argument against a Bernstein solo show. Francesa is the most repellent gastropod in sports media.

Well....Mac was paid to be off the air for four months(ish)....and there was one other radio station he could work for (family logistics, etc..) in an economy that had been shitting itself.
What would you do?

You negotiate like hell, but take the job.

It's no knock on Mac. You do what you got to do. I'm just saying we as listeners can speculate all day but in the end, that's all it really is. The point is even Mac didn;t think he'd end up doing a mid-day shift when he was at his highest point. Things change...

I agree with ya. We have no idea. But there are plenty of pieces that fit to allow us to see most of the picture.

I think if Mac and Spiegs were in the afternoon two things would happen.

1. B&B regulars (myself included) would hate the change at all...as Justin Craig once told me "You guys are afraid of change."
2. The afternoon ratings would go up.

As much as I love Uncle Terry, the ratings would not change if Berns eventually does afternoons solo, with Goff being a bit more active.

They already have that now pretty much.

I think the replacement is currently on the station. Dan McNeil. They'll call it the Danny Mac show with Danny Bernstein and Dan McNeil.

The best thing Dan McNeil's done for the station is allowed the creation of the DaMahNeh thing, which has now jumped the shark, courtesy of overabuse by Goff.

I don't think so. Even Dan chided Jason a few times for trying to squeeze a dahmaneh in at the most non-sequitur moments possible, and it was happening altogether too often.
