Viciedo certainly seems real at this point in his career and Ramirez, despite the slow starts, is certainly a bona fide ML shortstop.

Kudos indeed on these 2 acquisitions.
Are you ready to apologize to Kenny, Robin, and all the White Sox fans you disrespected by making this thread?

Nobody gives a shit about an apology and I still don't think they got enough for Santos. However, clearly the ML roster is performing at this juncture of the season so Kenny is to be commended for the Sox good start. The reality however is that it's May and this team could still underperform leaving the Sox in baseball Hell (i.e. mediocrity) and despite the success of Reed and Jones in the pen, it doesn't seem that they have any organizational depth in case Peavy's health explodes (again), if Rios/Beckham go back to hitting .190, if DeAza fails to make adjustments once he's been around the league longer, etc.

So in summation, the Sox have performed well and clearly are not the shittiest organization in baseball as of right now.

I do feel however, that they need to become more fan friendly based on some of the threads on here and that clearly is an area where they rank near the bottom in (which is inexplicable given the attendance challenges they have )...

Rick you sure like to give Kenny Williams a lot of credit.

I hope you hold him accountable when things arent so rosy. I have doubts that you will.

I haven't been following sports much lately. How many games are the White Sox behind the second Shittiest Organization in Baseball?

Laugh now. It's just a matter of time until the Messiah leads the north-siders to six or seven World Series titles in a row.

The shittiest organization in baseball for 68 blocks, at least.

Kevin Goldstein says having rookies performing at the major league level really isn't a good indicator of what makes a good farm system and he'd still rank the Sox last.

Remind me again why people treat this goof's word as gospel?

I think it's simply a result of the pervasiveness of fantasy baseball. It seems that the pursuit of/search for the player has become more important than how he actually plays. From the article I read in the Sun-Times, it seems Jed Hoyer's biggest credential for running a big league ballclub is the fact that he won a tough New England roto league when he was fourteen years old. And Hoyer is the same guy that calls draft day the Cubs' "Super Bowl" rather than anything that actually occurs on the field of play. This point of view has been adopted by many fans.

I was thinking that rookies performing at the major league level was how you judge you farm system. Since that kind of the point of having a farm system, to produce major league players.

Me too, although it's now in second by half a game now... :(

****I AM CALLING FOR THE IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF THIS THREAD******

Kenny took the worst farm system in baseball, and traded:

Brent Lillibridge
Zack Stewart
Matt Heidenreich
Blair Walters
Eduardo Escobar
Pedro Hernandez
and a player to be named later

for

Kevin Youkilis
Brett Myers
Francisco Liriano
and $5,800,000

So in other words he took the worst farm system in baseball and made it worse for a handful of rentaplayers.

Im told Kenny is the best GM in baseball

Because making the post season 3 of 12 years is very good "considering the resources he has"

Not sure when people will understand the Sox have had a top payroll for most of KW's time here.

Chus, those look like good trades right now....jury still out

Also, they wanted Greinke and couldnt get him because they didnt have the prospects. Dont we have to count that one against Kenny?

Im not talking about you but it seems Kenny gets a lot of excuses made for him

He's in a small market (Not really, top payroll)
No players come back to haunt him (Even though some are all stars)

I actually had someone tell me Daniel Hudson being hurt right now means that wasnt a bad trade.

And that Chris Young ended up being Youkalis. (Nevermind the 5 years in between those moves. Definitely couldnt have used an athleteic All Star centerfielder)

I dont know man. I think Kenny is very good. But his supporters seem to insist he's the best and anyone who disagrees is a hater.

Also, they say well "Cashman and Theo had open checkbooks"

Ok, so you are disqualifying anyone with a bigger payroll? Then yeah, Kenny is the best. If you take away all the GM's that are better.

Also, lets remember that Jim Hendry went to the playoffs three times in 9 years. And contrary to popular belief his payroll was LOWER than the White Sox for both 2007 and 2008

So how is it that Kenny is the best and Hendry is terrible?

(Again, not aimed at Chus, just ranting off of a post he made)
