Eola Road south is your best bet.

at most you'll see 7-8 lanes at an intersection. 4 thru lanes, a right turn, one or two-left turns, and a merging lane for "southbound" turning traffic.

I support this shoutout. Schaumburg has it's own DMV and, according to my sources, a library. I've eaten many, many exactly average meals in Schaumburg.

I go to Tommy Nevin's a lot. I know the area. It is most definitely 4 lanes between 95th and 103rd. And satellite images agree with me so....maybe you want to revise your statement.

So, again, I politely request that you stop lying.

I didn't lie. I said it goes back down to 4 lanes between 95th and 103rd - which it does, And it makes my distances accurate.

So you agree - more than 2/3 of Rt. 59 in Naperville are 6+ lanes.

It's really not an argument.

It's just me, stating undeniable facts, and IMU making broad, untrue, and factually inaccurate ones.

Downtown Schaumburg is a showplace. Mrs. Dr. Ken and I often enjoy scenic walks in the downtown area.

Schaumburg has a downtown? To me it's a mall,some "Letusentertainyou" eateries,a semi-pro baseball team and that's a wrap.

They like to call the little part by the library and Dominicks a "downtown" or "town centre"

I think what Arlington Heights did is outstanding. They decided to build a real downtown. I think they succeded.

I'm a fan of Palatine's downtown. I do miss the old dump that was Durty Nellies, though. Downtown Arlington wouldn't be bad if NW Hwy and AH Road didn't run right through it...hard to walk around down there.

Does this make you a Shaumburger? Is that what they are called? I know Boyd is a Palatinian living in exile.

This thread has seriously made me consider relocating from Schaumburg.

Congratulations on moving to the most average big suburb in Illinois.

Maybe one day you can upgrade to Naperville or Evanston.

I worked in Naperville for 5 years...the traffic makes it not worth it. Nice place, but terrible road infrastructure. 59 is the only decent N-S option, and it gets messy on weekday evenings, and the entirety of the weekends. And Evanston is too far NE.

Phew!

:P

95th...no one is hopping on an expressway for that. The only options would be naperville rd south and 59...both would take 40 minutes when it should take 10.

Take Raymond, which turns into Ogden, turn left on Rickert, which then turns into Naperville Rd. Take that to 95th.

I've just given you my trek through Naperville shortcut to CIJ's house.

Or go west young man, and take Eola Rd. south. It runs all the way to 135th street.

Bad math in Schaumburg.

59 is 6 lanes from New York St. south past 95th street.

That sounds easy.

Moving to a different suburb sounds much easier though.

I lived in Schaumburg from '02 to '04, and it's nothing special either. Traffic is just as bad as Naperville.

Schaumburg is no great shakes but it's only getting a bad rap on here because IMU for some reason loves it. It's no worse than Naperville, Palatine, or Arlington Heights. Apologies Boyd but Nellies is a dive that is no better or worse than dives in Schaumburg.

I can't believe you guys are arguing about Schaumburg vs Naperville. That's like trying to decide between a bowl of shit and a plate of shit.

Anything west of Milwaukee Ave is white trash.

Calling Schaumburg white trash is hilarious. That's gotta be some of the yuppiest neighborhoods in America.
