Half of the Hawks team is concussed. Maybe that can be used as an excuse for completely sucking this year. The "fans" are disappearing again...

Which part of the consecutive sellout streak points to the fans disappearing again?

And as far as injuries go, 4 words:

RIP Hamilton

It turns into the equivalent of the "Cubs/Sox argument". I didn't really want to take it down this path, but said car crash was no different than Bobby Hurley, Jay Williams, or Lance Briggs and his Lambo.

Just saying.

1 player. Still the most wins in the NBA.

Hockey will die in this town again. You'll see.

I'm watching Hawks highlights and I see one of the Hawks scored a goal. Here I am assuming they're playing a road game because they're wearing red. But then the crowd starts cheering. I'm like, "Why is the crowd cheering for the road team? Oh yeah....because the ROAD TEAM IS WEARING WHITE!"

Makes no sense to me.

You ever watched a football game before?

Pretty sure it was different than Bobby Hurley crash.

It is dying.

Sellouts, for sure. They are still decent team and the games are probably fun to go to. From the lack of constant Facebook posting, people driving with Hawks flags on their cars, the lack of Hawks garb, etc (all stuff which happened much much more in 2009 and 2010), hockey is dying in this town. I saw way more bandwagoners with the Hawks than I saw with the Cubs in '03, '07, and '08, and the Sox in '05 combined.

They actually changed this not to long ago. I wish they'd go back to home whites.

Sex Offenders And NHL Success: An Astonishingly Accurate New Metric

I'm not big on advanced stats in hockey. It's not because I don't think they're valuable, but because it's tough to translate the concepts to what I'm seeing on the ice. It's my own ignorance, yes, but for a new generation of hockey metrics to take hold, they'll have to be more relatable to the average fan. Like this one, which could not be simpler: the number of sex offenders near the arena has turned out to be an excellent indicator of team success.

The brainchild of Megalodon at Battle of California, I give you SONA. ("Sex offenders near arena." See? Intuitive is good!) By combing a national sex offender database, he put together a count of registered sex offenders living within 1.5 miles of every American NHL arena. That was in December. Revisiting it now, with less than a month to go in the regular season, the results are stunning: of the six teams surrounded by the most rapists and perverts, five are in the top six in the NHL points race.

There's a lesson here, and it's that correlation does not equal causation, not that kiddy diddlers will have more of an impact than Alexander Radulov on the Preds' Stanley Cup chances. And also: what the hell is going on in Nashville and St. Louis?

You are not allowed to hit a goalie that is outside of the crease.

Becasue the Stanley Cup finals are getting beaten by Public Access TV in the ratings.

The last game was killed by the Multicolored Bars and Annoying Sound Show...

You can do as many laughs as you want when you are laughing at the hockey lovers who have nothing to watch this winter.
