That's what it's coming to? We're analyzing the way he pronounces words that end with the "ar" sound? Is this the Electric Company or Sesame Street? The hell, man?

No, it's just kinda funny that despite one's best efforts, shaking an accent is damn hard. I've hypercorrected myself into saying "tuh-moor-ow" like a Canadian instead of saying "t'MAHHHHHR-ow" like an...Avondalian?

Straw man. They can worry about the results during working hours, or while at home with their wives, or out with their mistresses. And they do. That's what they are paid to do: worry about what will give the best ratings. That's their job.

Maybe it's because I'm not originally from here, but it's something that annoys me when I listen. I'm not "analyzing." Do you see me quoting "ars" per hour? Just an observation about Dan's hypocrisy.

Correct, but why does SHARK think he knows what they felt would give the best ratings? He's not sitting in on the meetings.

Christ almighty this Farm & Fleet commercial with the kid singing along to the jingle. Awful.

"HI I'M MITCH ROSEN PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF THE SCORE AND I'M HERE WITH MY SON BEN. BEN! WHERE ARE WE GOING TO GET HEAVY-DUTY OVERALLS AND TRACTOR IMPLEMENTS?"

"Farm & Fleet?"

"THAT'S RIGHT THAT'S WHERE WE'RE GONNA GO! NOW SING IT!"

That would make it better, though.

That's better than all the oddly-vague "click your radio banner right now" ads.

Because San Antonio has usually equaled ratings poison? It's not a huge leap. I think you're being too NBA defensive here.

Cairo, give it up. SHARK was right.

He's right about Seattle too. Stop taking everything he says so literally. He doesnt mean every single person in Seattle. He means Sonics fans are pissed that they lost out on not only their team, but a great talent and its an accurate comment.

I wouldn't say childish. I'd say obsessive.

But let's not do this today. You're doing that Spark thing where you oppose every thing I say because I said it.

Obsessive? Coming from the #1 defender. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I'm a fan, but I can see both sides to B&B.

This should be a board zen mantra. Whenever you feel yourself getting there, repeat this phrase in a guttural monotone.

No, Im not.

Im pointing out your hypocrisy with the Bernstein thing.

You're doing this thing where you are dug in so far on a position, youre being stubborn.

SHARK is right. Spurs are death for ratings and networks carrying the finals DO NOT want them.

Thats it. There is no more to it.

That's not true. I'm at my most vocal when I think people are being unreasonable. Kinda like when Mike North had a show. It was like "Oh my God, Nort said 'dere' instead of 'there'. He's a clown! Get him off the air!" I don't like North, but I think the criticism was unreasonable at times. Same with B&B. I actually agree with most of the criticisms of the show and have voiced that many times, despite how much many of you conveniently like to gloss over that fact. But you guys actually tend to make them look sympathetic.

I was watching a very good CNBC documentary called "SonicsGate" not that long ago, and I hope they rerun it in the very near future. The Seattle Supersonics were an NBA franchise for some 40 years before the current management team and the NBA allowed the Sonics to bolt Seattle and relocate, I believe in 2008 for Oklahoma City to become the Thunder. Although they support the Thunder down in OKC today big time, the politics & anger Seattle fans had prior to the franchise leaving was amazing. They didn't want the Sonics to leave back then, but it seemed like NBA Commissioner David Stern & the ownership team there thumbed their noses when financing to replace Key Arena wouldn't happen.

The city is reportedly trying to get back in the game with a rumored privately-financed arena that could seat at least 20,000 and could host not only a possible new NBA team and/or NHL team. Might that NBA team be the Sacramento Kings? After all, their own arena deal reportedly fell through recently, and one would think the Kings' owners, the Maloofs, would be more interested in negotiating with Seattle rather than Anaheim as a rumored 3rd team in the Los Angeles market, Anaheim to be exact.

Interestingly enough, one of the guys interviewed in "SonicsGate" is Kevin Calabro, the PBP voice of the Sonics who just called the Thunder/Spurs' NBA Western Conference Final on ESPN Radio. Hmmm...

And I was simply pointing out Dan's mirroring of those he mocks. You don't see the irony there?

Of course I see it. I guess what I was saying figuratively is, sometimes you gotta let em play. You can't call a foul every time there's contact.

They supported the Sonics for some 40 years in Seattle, much like Cleveland fans supported the Browns before Art Modell moved that team to Baltimore in the late '90s as the Ravens. It's bittersweet among Seattle basketball fans that they're in the NBA Finals as the Oklahoma City Thunder, GD, and they can't be pleased the Thunder are in the NBA Finals.
