Will Dullahan be the one to stop I'll Have Another?

Will I'll Have Another win, only to get pinched for steroids down the line?

What about Union Rags and Paynter?

I see a lot of Trifectas with IHA, Dull, and UR or Pay in the mix. I'm trying to figure out who could possible be the Zetterholm of this race for the S'Fecta. Maybe Unstoppable U?

I really think Union Rags is sitting on a huge race for Saturday and wins the Belmont Stakes. He got a horrible break in the Derby, left slowly and made up ground late. I think the jockey change is big too. John V. knows Belmont.

From what I've been reading on twitter, Dullahan has been blazing in his practices.

He has been. No denying he's been a morning workout warrior. My big ? for him is whether he's a dirt or fake dirt horse.

I think it's going to be I'll Have Another and Dullahan.

I don't have a lot of faith in Union Rags coming in 3rd or 4th. He will be the "Went The Day Well" of this race.

Right now, I'm leaning towards Atigun or Unstoppable U in 3rd and/or 4th. I did very well with Zetteholm a few weeks ago.

Reading on DRF.com, and here is someone's thoughts who's been there. He left these in the comments section after one of the articles. Obvious spelling errors, but good stuff to read.

Quote:
As of today Wednesday Morning "In My Opinion" from what I have een since being here at Belmont for nearly 8 days now : STREETLIFE - is not looking as sharp as I would like . Not many good signs ......................... UNSTOPPABLE - another colt that has not been setting the world on fire since arriving . I see very to like reguarding liking ...................... UNION RAGS - since ive seen this colt many times during the mornings at Fair Hill just alittle an hour away from here , it was a good sign when JV came to Fair Hill to see Brette / Matz / Colt , everything is a Go . I can not think of 1 thing Not to Like going into this race ........................ ATIGUN - another colt that has not looked too impressive towards my liking since being here . Very little to like ........................ DULAHAN - up untill just yesterday late afternoon , eveything looked picture perfect . But this morning , a warning sign alerts my attention . And going to the area where thee colts will be for 72 hours may not hep matters any . I am geting very mixed emotions now - this happen to "WENT THE DAY WELL" leading up to the Preakness , so signs are their that may not be to Romans liking , though Dale will down play the situation ............................. RAVELOs BOY - though his colt has had a trip to the track like "MIND THAT BIRD" to the Derby , a long trailor ride , this colt has looked awesome since arrivng , dont laugh to hard , its the truth , I think this colt couls very seriously show up in 4th for the Superfecta ............................. FIVE SIXTEEN - not looking impressive at all for my liking . Nothing to like ........................... GUYANA STAR DWEEJ - im in a way very disapointed in the results of many of these colts here for the Stakes , many of them just not looking up to par . The track is deep , but thats Belmont . This colt seems abit off key as well ............................... PAYNTER - this colt in my opinion most of all seems to be going Backwards fast . So many signs of this colt looks Just Like " WENT THE DAY WELL " leading into the Preakness , pass on this colt in a heartbeat ......................... OPTIMIZER - with so many colts looking so off key since arriving here , LUKAS just may have gotten a big boost . Im not too keen on this colt neither , but has not looked so bad as many of the others , and should be picking up the pieces late to get a share ..................................... ILL HAVE ANOTHER - this colt has Slowly gotten back into his own since the Preakness . This colt has been doing everything right , even though seems to be in Slow motion . All signs have been good thru-out the last 8 days . The Belmont Stakes is surely his race to lose .......................... MY ADONIS - I was not expecting this colt to apear untill late Monday afternoon , so in all Honesty I have no report other than - has got to look better than 3 / 4 of hese colts enter for the race ................................................... MY TOP FOUR COLTS AS OF " N O W " not in any order ( ILL HAVE ANTHER - RAVELOs BOY - DULLAHAN - UNION RAGS ) .......................................... I would be paying very close attention to DULLAHAN habits now up till race morning " feed n water

I'd love to see Have Another but Paynter has time off and the only horse with a 100 plus Beyer other than IHA..going to the lead and set slow fractions ...TOUGH here.Of course a $2 win on IHA :D

That would be a made for TV story right there. Baffert can't beat IHA with the fastest horse in the country but he busts the Triple Crown with a second-stringer. Then we'd have to listen to the white-haired media darling talking about how he's torn because a Triple Crown winner was going to be great for the sport. "Down the stretch I wasn't sure who I was rooting for." Okay, Bob.

Union Rags is going to be a giant overlay and I'll Have Another is going to be absurdly overbet. I have a suspicion that Union Rags may just dominate this group for the remainder of the summer. It's going to be an interesting race.

I read Andrew Beyer's column on why the Triple Crown has been so elusive and his conclusion- which is a popular one- is that horses aren't bred to get the Belmont distance. I certainly don't want to dismiss pedigree, but I think the greater factor is that horses simply aren't trained to run 1-1/2 miles. And the ones that have a chance to finish a Triple Crown have not had the luxury of being trained to get that distance since the were pointed to the Derby at the classic distance of a buck and a quarter and then spun back around in two weeks to shorten up to 1-3/16 miles on a track with hairpin turns in a race that is often run like a sprint. I think you would see more Triple Crown winners if the order of the Preakness and the Derby were reversed.

Back to pedigree, I don't think it is quite as important as the thoroughbred industry believes. Of course you never see a horse by Meadowlake out of a Phone Trick mare winning at a route. Nobody runs them there. Maybe one of them would be the best horse ever at a mile and a half if he was given the chance.

And nobody is really going to take a top class horse and focus his training on going a distance that he will likely only cover once in his entire life. Which is why you have horses like Da'Tara and Sarava winning the Belmont at huge odds. These were nice horses but they weren't among the best of their generations. They had the luxury of being pointed specifically to this strange race at an odd distance that horses seeking a Triple Crown do not.

What makes you think Union Rags has a shot?

He was 7th in the Derby, and I'll have to watch the race again, but I don't recall him gaining any ground in the home stretch. It's just something about him that I don't like.

He was flying at the end of the Derby after having to check many times during the race. He had no shot in the Derby which is why Leparoux got fired. His Beyers are suspect, but six weeks ago no one in the world would have given IHA a shot to beat him.

Michael Matz is a sharp guy. I think he believes he had a Triple Crown winner and he's very frustrated. I think this might be the coming out party for this horse. IHA is going to be tough to beat though. He's handled everything they've thrown at him so far.

IHA will be yet another 2 classics winner. Union Rags shows up like Empire Maker a few years ago and shows why he was the best horse of that crop.

Vince if you get a link for the program, please post it.

Thanks.

Beyer's top 3 are IHA (109), Paynter (106), and Dully (98)

I know I can find it with a little digging, but do you remember how those guys did with their predictions in the other two Triple Crown races?
