OK, so I held off on this when Houston was in town to play the White Sox, but with Detroit coming to Wrigley tomorrow, I have to ask. Does it bug anyone else when an update person refers to the Tigers-Cubs series as a "rematch of the 1945 World Series" or when the Astros were in town that it was a "rematch of the 2005 World Series?"

If they're going to reference the finals to refer to a rematch and not just another mundane season series, a rematch to me means teams that played each other in the playoffs 1, 2, or 3 years ago. It doesn't refer to teams from 7 (Sox) or 67 years ago (Cubs), when the majority of those players are either on different teams or dead.

I know Spanky usually chimes in as my old man compass, and this does seem very "get off my lawn, damn kids"-ish, but I'm curious what the masses think.
