No, I was not stealing boxes. But yes, I got fired on a couple of Friday's ago when I had taken a PTO day. I was the 2nd shift manager at the local salt mine. Had just gotten a raise two months earlier. My #2 on the shift staging a mutiny because he wanted my job and promotion.(a position he had been previously passed over for)

I had asked the general manager the day before my termination if my job was in jeopardy. He directly said, "No, I would of come to you first." So he was gone for the day on that Thursday afternoon and Friday morning he texted me, "Sorry to bother you on your day off. Please call me when you have a moment." I knew at that moment I was a goner.

So I made the call, he said my position has been eliminated and when asked, there is no other role for me in the company. Ouch babe. It was awesome to go to the charity golf tournament at McHenry Golf Club(why I took the day off work), meet my girlfriends extended family and tell them when asked what do I do, that I just got fired form my job before heading up there.

I shot about a 150 if not for the best ball format. Joined up with the group in front of us on 17th hole, managed to hit the tee out from under the ball and have the ball drop straight to the ground. It was even bett that about 15 people saw me do it. Was able to redeem myself by nearly hitting hole in one on the 170 yard 18th hole. The tee shot on 18 got a rise, "oohs and ahhs" from the crowd that just saw me whiff the tee shot on the hole before. Missed the hole by about a foot, which would of been $500 since the ace would of counted as a skin. And of course my group all missed the easy birdie to finish the round.

Filed for unemployment and have started asking around for leads and shaking down the people I know for cash. Have some things lined up and my friends told me to enjoy the summer and come back to being a day person again. Had to share with the crowd, maybe now I'll be posting at some other time than 3am. Also be able to resume my multing career. Hard to troll when you have to wait 10 hours for a response. So yeah, that happened.

See what I can do for you :D :D :D :D :D :D :D This is deja vu all over again :D

I'll be glad to return the grand prize from last year's contest....

You had a top ten, maybe top five ride, but that's racin', you'll come back and give 'em hell next week.

What a fucking coward your boss is. For him to wait until you were off to fire you over the phone is bush league. If you get en exit interview with HR make sure you tell them how this clown let you go. Typically if someone is on the ropes & at risk of losing their job, they would be told at their review that they need to turn things around or they may lose their job. If this wasn't done with you then your better off not working for those jagoffs. A good Manager is open & honest with his/her employees about the good & bad.
I sell to a lot of factories & shops & I'll keep my eyes peeled for any openings.

In all seriousness. It sucks. I got fired when I was 18. Called in sick so I could go party in Champaign for my friends birthday. They asked my sister who worked with me how I was feeling and she sold me out.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, unemployment lasts for three years now. By the time you are even close to running out Romey will have the country back on track.

Hopefully you don't live in Indiana, I know somebody that got laid off about Christmas Time, and they only got the 26 week unemployment.

Sorry to hear about that Don, hopefully it will be sooner than later that you find a new job.

I know people laugh sometimes when you say McDonald's, but if you can get a management job at Mcdonald's, your set for life with benefits and pay.

I dunno, maybe you're handling it ok, but coming home to a stay-at-home wife and two kids and telling them I just lost my job: that was not a good day.

If you're Catholic, I'll say a prayer for you, otherwise, you're on your own.
